I'm a huge fan of Ruth's Chris but not of this location. The food is spot on but the service is not good. I made a reservation online and then I called ahead to confirm they knew it was my wife's birthday. They said they normally do a piece of cheese cake for birthday's and I said that I'd like her to have the bread pudding instead as that is her favorite. They said that's no problem. When we arrived, 2 of our guests weren't with us and their policy is not to seat people if the entire party isn't there. I let them know we already had their orders and we had other plans later that night so we'd like to be seated. After 10 minutes or so, we were seated. It was at least another 15 minutes before they even asked if we wanted to order appetizers (which we did) and then another 20 minutes before we could order our food. Meanwhile, our drink order never came out until after the main course. We didn't see much of our server the whole time we were there. When the desserts came out they still brought out the cheesecake instead of subbing it for the bread pudding, and they brought the dessert to the wrong person (the excuse was "they just told me silver sweater"). We were done with our food for a while before the check actually came out, and they didn't even ask if we wanted to split it (which we did). With 3 couples, I feel like it's pretty presumptuous not to ask. It literally took over 15 minutes to split the check (who know's why). Mean while we had been telling them since our food came out that we were in a hurry and had another reservation we had to be to. When he finally got the checks back, they still weren't split the way that we asked so it took another 15 minutes to process our payments and fix the checks (I can do this at olive garden on a kiosk in 3 minutes, so why it takes a fancy steak house over 15 minutes is beyond me). By this time we are pretty frustrated and are going to be late for our next appointment. When our server (DEAN) brings out our checks, he literally hovers over our shoulders as we are filling out the tip portion. I've never stiffed a waiter in my life but I was certainly tempted as I could feel him breathing down my neck. Then, I hand him my check and he immediately opens it and says "where is my tip?". I pointed on the receipt where I had written his 10% tip (which at that point I thought was generous). He then told me he would have to take the gift card back in order to process the tip on the card. I was tempted to just walk out in frustration but I ended up leaving a cash tip instead as we were already in a hurry. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL service and not what I would expect from a fine dining establishment.
I'll still go to Ruth's Chris in other areas but in vegas we will save our fine dining for other places with...
Read moreNO ONE SHOULD GET PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT. EVERY CUSTOMER IS IMPORTANT. IF THE STAFF KNEW I WAS HALF BLACK I WOULD HAVE BEEN BUMPED UP IN PRIORITY SEATING BY THE WINDOW. SOMETHING I WOULD HAVE NOT HAVE WANTED AT ALL. EVERY CUSTOMER SHOULD BE TREATED EQUALLY. With that said. They didn't know I was half black. But that shouldn't matter. We go to Ruth Chris every time we're in Vegas. And we go to Vegas at least twice a year. During the height of the George Floyd riots and BLM SCAM in 2020 and 2021. We were in Vegas. Made my reservation. And they were customers of all sorts of nationalities and backgrounds. And of course black customers as well. It was very obvious they were putting all the black customers first. Those black customers who have reservations or walk-ins later than our reservation and other non black customers. They were put on the top tier of priority and by the window. They were implementing wokeism into their customer service. When my wife and I are finally seated. Made our order. I told her waitress / server. "SHOULD I HAVE MENTIONED THAT I WAS HALF BLACK? WOULD WE HAVE BEEN SEATED SOONER AND BY THE WINDOW? NOT THAT I WANTED TREATMENT ABOVE SOMEONE ELSE. BUT I'M SOMEONE WHO'S HALF BLACK AND HALF VIETNAMESE. I DON'T FIND IT FAIR TO OTHERS. MAYBE I'M NOT DARK ENOUGH? BECAUSE I LOOK LATINO" Now our server brought the manager right out. They were very concerned and seemed very embarrassed at the same time disconnected and did not see the problem and their preferential seating of customers that were black. They offered some complimentary appetizers on our next visit. I told the manager I just wanted to express my displeasure of treating certain customers above others. And went on to show my displeasure because I did not look black enough even though being half black. I still would have not accepted the preferential treatment. Now we still go to Ruth's Chris every time I go to Las Vegas. But it showed me how quickly RC capitulated to whatever the political correctness at the time was. So I have to assume it's safe to say however the political pendulum swings in the future. They could return to woakism in their customer service. Otherwise the food is obviously great. We usually get excellent customer service. But this was one time out of eight visits. And restaurants like Ruth Chris shouldn't it be capitulating to wokeism like it did in 2020 and 2021....
Read moreMy family and I frequent Ruth's Chris several times throughout the year; not only that when I vacation its the first restaurant I look to find to the nearest Ruth's Chris to make reservations, Ruth's Chris is always part of my vacation experience. Last night, while on vacation, I made reservations for Ruth's Chris Las Vegas in the Harras Hotel, and im disheartened to say that the customer service did not meet our expectations. We were served by Dean, and from the start the service was substandard. We started off by ordering drinks and Dean must have been distracted because we had to send the drink back 3 times due to Dean's inability to take our order correctly, on the 3rd time we offered to go order from the bar directly because it was apparent that Dean was frustrated. From that point on he was impatient, tone was condescending, and short when questions were asked, although I have been to Ruth's Chris too many times to count, there were 2 in our party that had never been. We were rushed to order, as we asked to allow us to enjoy our appetizers before ordering our main course, and from that point on we barely seen Dean we had to ask for refills for our waters and were never offered to ordered another round on our alcoholic beverages and had to wave him down or ask nearby waiters for other things we needed throughout the night. We asked for our food to be boxed up, as they do in all the other Ruths Chris I've patronized, and they refused to do so. The bill came, that was the final straw the hovering around the table, then interrupting in his condescending tone rushing us to pay and offering to split the check individually, implying we were penny pinching to pay our bill; then debated with us on the best course of action to habdle our bill. We respectfully let him know we were finishing our drinks and reviewing the bill to ensure the items charged were accounted for and all of what was charged was ours (we've learned a lesson in the past paying for our bill without reviewing it and finding out after the fact it was the bill for a neighboring table). Overall when we select a fine dining establishment, we are paying for an experience which includes top of the line customer service, and last night Ruths Chris fell short of that. In the end we paid $700 for our meal and left Dean a tip because it was the right thing to do, and left unhappy with a tainted...
