While this isn’t necessarily the best buffet in Vegas. It’s pretty good! If you have the MGM cards they give you points (have to take receipt to MGM Rewards desk) and they give military discounts! It’s also only $35 a person and they have sugar free, gluten free, and allergy options which I thought was really cool since my nephew is allergic to tree nuts. They can make whatever you want if you have allergies:)!
They are very nice and welcoming as you come in and the one that was sort of waiting on us (it’s a buffet so you serve yourself) was really great and had good recommendations and was on it!
The carving session was one of my favorites, great brisket and ribs. The ahi salmon was great, as well as the blueberry pie, and the pineapple. Skip the tortellini and the Mac and cheese, tasted a little fake. They got a good salad bar but I didn’t spend too much time on that. The Asian area was awesome! Loved the dumplings, egg roll, and the TomYum soup was to die for. Was so good I had two bowls. The Bok Chou was awesome as well as the Black Forest cake with real buttercream frosting and cherries, and the blueberry pie. Skip the orange chicken, French toast, lemon me-reign pie, cheesecake, the sushi (I mean come on it’s sitting around all day), the cherry pie, red velvet cupcake, and bread pudding. They have a make your own omelette station and crepe station as well. Skip the crepe station. It’s blah. They also have the ice cream machine as well.
Seating is very spread out which is awesome!
Also if you download some slot machine app called my Vegas Slots you can win a free buffet ticket.
Ambience is typical of a buffet. Nothing to fabulous. But who cares because the customer service was great!!! To us anyway. Besides the carvery station guy who poured BBQ sauce over my French toast. He was sorry about it though and eventually I thought it was hilarious and actually tried it. I do not recommend that combination! But neither do I recommend their French toast by itself or with the fruit and syrup anyway…just don’t try the French toast!
This was a cool experience and if you are looking for an affordable buffet, at a great price, and you have allergies or Syliac disease, I highly...
Read moreWhere to begin? Ok at the time of walk-in. The cashier greeting was a little unexpected. They had zero waiting time and one of them was waving people in only to be greeted by a "this lane is only to priority access, use the other regular lane" and got sent back to start a queue which lasted about 3 minutes even though the other cashier was attending to a larger "priority group first" and the second cashier, a lady with curly short bobbed haircut was delaying the check-in offering no explanation. After we got our turn, we presented a comp ticket for over $100 to which we immediately got placed as champagne brunch guests, which is 45 dollars per person, versus the 38 dollars without. We werent offered the cheaper optionand when we aaked why, we were told that is what they charge everybody on the weekend-no exceptions. We know its a comp, but we had different plans on a drink at the bar later and that pretty much took all of the comp credit away at just 1 place. After this we were waiting to be seated and it was taking such a long time to so, even without any queue in front of us and we proceeded to look for someone to ask, to which we got sort of scolded for not being patient and finally got a seat after 4 additional minutes. Like other reviews mention, service is hurting a lot, and for a place that offers barely decent menu options for 45 dollars a person to say the "self service" was worth it, its a stretch. The food was ok for the most part, not many options like other casinos do, but for the price, you could probably find a better place for your value. For example we walked to the NYNY casino and we found food for 2 people under 50 dollars just as good if not better. Even with the comp discounted, we ended up paying a little over 15 dollars on a brunch that we didnt had any drinks after all. Do your homework and use your comps wisely. They will take the premium prices for them to get you to use most if not all and you still end up paying in the end. 100 dollars for 2 people seemed a little pricey for the underpar service and so-so menu. Just a thought so you can make a more informed decision yourself. With that said, hope your experience is better than...
Read moreAllergen warning: Many items have nuts. Inform the server and a chef will tour you around. Effectively I was advised to avoid all desserts, one shrimp dish, and the entire Asian menu.
We arrived at 11AM on a Sunday and had about a ten minute line. The line nearly doubled by 11:30AM. I was able to load a MyVegas BOGO downstairs and use it with no issues (effectively $35 for two weekend brunch buffets).
My experience at the Excalibur Buffet was pretty lackluster, overall. I started with some smoked salmon, which was dry on some pieces but perfect on others. I then waited in the omelette line. It took about ten minutes from ordering to receive the omelette as one of the induction stoves was malfunctioning. I got some Latin food (chips, guac, birria), some of the carving station meats, and finished with clam chowder, shrimp, and watermelon.
Some general advice: -If the omelette line is more than five people long... Be prepared to wait. -Have to use the cashier line to apply any comps. -Self serve beverages are pretty great for a buffet. -All you can drink package is only a good deal if you drink three or more. Otherwise, go a la carte.
Individual food review: -The omelette was loaded with a mountain of cheese and took a long time, but it was a 7/10. Very filling. -Bacon was average. -Chicken apple sausages were particularly dry with a starchy texture. -The clam chowder tastes like liquid salt and pepper and barely had any clam, and too much potato. -The carving station was a disappointment. It was told to me that they slow smoke the brisket for 12 hours, but it was one of the driest brisket I've ever had. -My partner got a bit sick eating the sushi. The fish seemed old and whatever they used for the sticky rice didn't taste right.
If I were to go again, I would: -Stick with the smoked salmon. Put smoked salmon on your omelette, too. Add guac there too. -Get more shrimp -Eat some of the brunch (French toast and bacon) -Taste a little bit of whatever else
I wouldn't come back at full price, especially since they aren't very...
