After researching for a while what vegan food options were nearby me on the strip this one looked great so headed over. There isn’t too much choice for vegans in Vegas on the strip outside of burgers and fries, so I was looking forward to something healthier! As a solo traveler of course I was put at the bar, whatever, usually it’s faster service so didn’t mind really. I ordered the Korean noodle bowl, it says it’s vegan on the menu so didn’t feel the need to announce this to the bartender. When it came, I noticed there was egg in it. The bartender removed the bowl, but it felt like he was blaming me a little for the error as he said that he told me there was peanuts in it when I ordered it. I asked what has that got to do with the fact there is egg in it? He then produced another menu that I wasn’t given initially, I’m guessing it was their “seasonal menu” or something, where he pointed out this other noodle bowl that was vegetarian not vegan. The manager was now involved and also said that the “veg” meant “vegetarian” and the “v” means “vegan”. I said I’m aware of that but the noodle bowl I ordered on the menu I was provided had the vegan “V” marker. They then agreed that it was their error and offered me a remake. I decided to not stay as the whole interaction was a bit awkward and to be honest, I hate it when they put animal products in my food and then they have to remake it. It defeats the purpose of being vegan as all that food obviously went to waste. I would Suggest better training when it comes to your menus and perhaps double check for allergy or dietary restrictions when taking orders especially as you’re one of the few vegan and vegetarian friendly restaurants on the strip so you will be a first choice for us. If you have similar items on your menus please double check with the guest what item they actually want. Not giving 1* for service as the manager was nice asked me if I was okay when I left. I was also upset cause the food looked...
Read moreI have been wanting to try True Food for a good while now and finally got to last night. As someone with a lot of dietary restrictions (gluten free, dairy free, seed oil free) and allergies (shellfish, OAS) and histamine intolerance and MCAS...I have to be really confident in where I eat and what I eat. Our server, Maddie, was very upbeat and super accommodating to my needs. She double checked on ingredients, wrote down my needs, made reccomendations and eliminated some high histamine ingredients for me from the dishes I ordered. She explained how True Food follows an anti inflammatory protocol, is seed oil free, how the chefs/cooks would handle my allergies and restrictions, and how the manager would double check and bring out my meal. I have anxiety when dining and usually am limited to 1 or 2 options on a menu. My boyfriend laughed at the menu because it is exactly how we cook at home (which is a good thing and delicious BTW) As someone who doesn't get to be so food adventurous I was really thrilled to have a plethora of choices. I had the noodle bowl which was fabulous and tried the chicken strips which were also great (gluten free! Air fryed!) I was most stoked about the dipping sauce as almost every sauce known to man has gluten or dairy 😂 and something I have missed in my life. My boyfriend had a seasonal pizza and raved about it (sourdough!) We came with a visiting friend who does not have any dietary needs and quite honestly probably would not have chosen this restaurant on his own accord but had the chicken parmesean and loved it! The refreshers were also delicious. I can't stop raving about this place. I am already planning on coming back and want to shout from the mountain tops how good everything was. I felt like the menu was...
Read moreMy wife and I, both foodies, were excited to try True Food Kitchen on our Vegas outing, but unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected. We were hoping for a quick bite, but instead, we received terrible service and a disappointing meal.
The restaurant was nearly empty, yet it still took 30 minutes for us to get any food or even a refill on our water. Our waitress was prompt at first, taking our order quickly, but after that, we were completely forgotten. We had to go look for her and inquire about our food. She seemed casually surprised by our concern, saying, "Oh yes, it's up. I'll bring it right out." But it never came. We were left waiting even longer.
Frustrated, we went to the front to ask about our order, and the manager, Natasha, was the one to bring us our food. My hot meal was cold, and my wife’s salad had frozen ahi on it. Not exactly the fresh, quality experience we were hoping for, especially considering the restaurant’s focus on organic ingredients.
To make matters worse, Natasha took the opportunity to lecture my wife about not tolerating any "disturbances" regarding the lack of service. She was more focused on our tone than the fact that we had been waiting in an empty restaurant for over half an hour for our food. In my opinion, it should have been the manager apologizing to us for such poor service and subpar food quality, not scolding us.
Overall, the meal was just okay, but the service was terrible, and the attitude from the manager was completely unprofessional. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially given the way we were treated. It’s clear they don’t value their customers, and that's not acceptable in any...
