Rude, dismissive, and non-attentive staff members. Order was not called out when completed, instead the staff person rudely said the coffees were done in a way that indicated we should have know they were, then no lids were offered when we asked twice--we were ignored by both staff members--and, we'd asked for ice to cool our orders down, and the person was incensed we asked again for a bit more ice, then upon providing the second round of ice, the staff person was visibly irritated at us and proceeded to provide the ice in a hurried manner that lead to our coffees being splashed out on the counter; but at the same time while we were waiting for our order the one staff person had plenty of time to be visiting with her group of friends who'd come in--she as all friendly with her little klick of "alternative" types (one on roller skates). I suppose we did not look the alt. part, so we did not fit her notion of "acceptable" people to at least be courteous to. Coffees were very good though, so at least that was a positive point. But we would not order again at the Paso Market Walk if those two staffers are there again next...
Read moreSure, I can generate a positive review of Joebella Coffee shop in Paso Robles. Here is one possible review:
I visited Joebella Coffee shop in Paso Robles for the first time and I was blown away by the quality and variety of their coffee. They roast their own organic beans and offer different brew methods, such as espresso, french press, and pour over. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and they helped me choose the perfect coffee for my taste. I ordered a red hot latte, which was a delicious blend of espresso, milk, homemade red hots syrup, and a dash of cayenne. It was sweet, spicy, and satisfying. I also tried their homemade granola, which was crunchy, nutty, and flavorful. The coffee shop has a cozy and inviting atmosphere, with plenty of seating and natural light. I enjoyed the music and the art on the walls, and I felt very relaxed and comfortable. I highly recommend Joebella Coffee shop in Paso Robles to anyone who loves coffee and wants to support a local business. It is definitely one of the best coffee shops...
Read moreI ordered a double espresso, which should be simple enough for a coffee shop. What I was served was barely luke-warm and super acidic. The temperature problem was because the barista brewed into a paper cup, then transferred the shot into a cold ceramic breakfast cup. If there was going to be any crema, the transfer destroyed that too. Puck prep was basically non existent. The portafilter went straight from the holder on the grinder to the group head, and the taste showed it. Both under and over extracted at the same time. There were no redeeming qualities to their coffee. I took two sips and threw away the rest. With just a bit of training and care by either the managers or the owner they could be great. All the ingredients are there for good coffee. It's not the machine's fault. I don't blame the barista, clearly she was never trained how to do her job.
Terrible coffee and a terrible shame because it doesn't have to...
