My husband, Peter, and I enjoyed lunch at Pappy McGregor's in Paso Robles today, and we couldn't have been more pleased with the experience.
We opted for a spot on the front patio, where the outdoor ambiance was delightful. The weather was perfect, and the welcoming atmosphere set the stage for an enjoyable meal. What made our visit even more special was the fact that our dog-child, Sophie, was warmly welcomed, making it a truly pet-friendly establishment.
Now, let's talk about the food. Peter ordered the All American Burger with Onion Rings, and I went for the 1/2 Reuben Sandwich paired with Sweet Potato Fries from the Mix and Match Lunch Menu. Every bite was a burst of flavor, and the presentation was impeccable. The All American Burger was a hearty indulgence, and the accompanying onion rings were crispy and delicious, "nearly the best I've ever had," said Peter! My 1/2 Reuben Sandwich was a perfect blend of tender corned beef, swiss cheese, house-pickled purple cabbage and Thousand Island on toasted rye, complemented by the flavorful sweet potato fries. It was a delightful mix of classic and inventive flavors.
The service at Pappy McGregor's was excellent, with attentive staff ensuring our needs were met throughout the meal. The menu offered a diverse range of options, and the Mix and Match Lunch Menu allowed me to customize lunch to my liking.
In summary, our experience at Pappy McGregor's was nothing short of fantastic. The combination of delicious food, a welcoming atmosphere, and pet-friendly policies makes it a standout gastro pub in Paso Robles. We left with satisfied taste buds and a plan to return. If you're in the area and looking for a great dining experience, Pappy McGregor's is...
Read moreThe Bartender who has cheers tattoo on front left forearm was the slowest and rudest bartender. I'm a bartender myself and and know how to make 4 drinks in under 5 minutes at a tiki bar in Los Angeles. Most of the drinks I make have 6 or more ingredients and I can talk to guests while making them feel welcome and respected. It took about 5 min before the barback looked at my wife, mother, and I and said I'll get the bartender to help you. We eventually received our drinks and we began to enjoy our time. Then I noticed a couple walk in and sit next to my family at the bar. They waited for about 5 min and then I said to them you might be there for a while. Trying to lighten the mood because I could tell they were a little bit agitated that they had been sitting there for stupid amount of time. They ordered 2 cranberry vodkas and they came in slow untimely mannor. What a joke you have all these bartender tattoos on your arm and you can't make more than one drink at a time. Plus you have ants cralling all over your sticky disgusting bar. I informed one of the delinquent employees about the ants and they smiled and laughed. If you need a consultation, I'm here for the owners of Pappy McGregor's. I'm honestly saddened by the attitude and disrespect I received. The most pitiful thing is how an Irish pub is supposed to be welcoming and grateful that you are there. I definitely didn't feel anything other than my Smithwicks...
Read moreA group of 6 of us entered and waited to be seated. When we were finally seated in the back-patio area, we waited 50 mins before I left the table to locate a server, I asked why we havenât been waited on. The server informed me that they donât provide service out there. Ok??? Why were we seated there in the first place is beyond me, but we waited some more time to be re-seated where they do provide a server. Then moments later the owner, and some muscle come to the table to inform us that they couldnât serve some in our group, we had no idea why (too lively?... too loud?... complaining too much about the poor service?) âŚno idea, and at that point I had had enough. I told the owner it wasnât my first choice to go there anyway, and were all just going to leave. I told him I was going to leave a review it just took me some time to get around to it, so here it is. Lucky for you, 1 star is the lowest, if there was the ability to give no star, I wouldâve used that. And thank you for treating us so poorly, it makes us appreciate the other hotspots that much more. There are so many other great places in Paso to spend our money, and your place only was picked merely out of convenience. Thatâs pretty much every outing where we wind up there, I assume thatâs why most people do. Convenience, not for a 5-star experience, just out of...
