Savage Spirits & Deli — Restaurant in Paso Robles

Unfortunately I've waited until now to visit Savage Spirits and Deli here in Paso Robles Ca. This cute little corner store is so much more than spirits and sandwiches. They have most of the things you'd typically find at a smaller convenience store. I walked out with Fritos, Starburst Sparkling ice and a bag of jelly beans. Now, this is a smaller store however, it has a really big feel to it soon as you walk in the Door. This Family owned and operated mostly by the ladies in the family and has been that way for years, I was told. And these ladies are really sweet. They also have a Deli in the back decorated for the holidays. It's so inviting and comfortable. Got there around 12:10 placed my order and paid. Proceeded to wait 25 minutes for a tri tip sandwich. They were a little backed up but they had a bad ordering system. They did not make the sandwiches in the order that they were received. A gentleman placed his order 5 minutes after me and they were making his first. Had to tell them I had a sandwich for them to start working on it. Just no system for their ordering. Sandwich was very small for the price but tasted good. That and the friendly staff are the only things that saved them from getting a one star. I'll probably give them another go and see if...

This little gem is a local small business that I definitely recommend. They slice the meat fresh upon ordering and the sandwiches were hearty, well made and delicious. We got the #2, #3 and #5. We prefer to go with locally owned eateries whenever available and we stay away from the chains. The ladies preparing the sandwiches were very friendly and appreciated that we prefer to patronize local places. We will definitely be back to try other sandwiches next time we are up that way and hankering for a solid,...
