My wife and I decided to try this place last night after reading all the great reviews. The food was fantastic but our waiter needs to do something else with his life. He checked on us ONCE our ENTIRE time here. He came after about 20 minutes to let us know our drinks weren't ready yet (Saturday night at 7:30). After that we never saw him again except for food delivery and bringing the check. My wife ordered a hard cider and he brought it to the table without a glass. So we had to wait to catch him to ask for a glass, which took another five minutes to get. My wife thanked him for the glass which he gave no response to. She left the empty can table's edge for him to collect and after he passed our table 12 times (we counted) she just put the can on a nearby counter top. Then, after the food came we needed more than our one napkin and after stopping him walking by, he brought us more without any response after thanking him. He continually walked past us throughout our time here without asking us a single thing or checking on us for refills, "is everything okay," etc. NOTHING. So this would be a five star review but because of our inept waiter I give the two stars. A restaurant should have it's A-team on hand for a busy Saturday night. This guy is more fit to flip burgers at McDonalds. We won't be back.
Update 4/06: Okay, we decided to give this place another chance after one of the owners contacted us. This experience was much better, service-wise. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive, but as with our last visit she didn't check on us after the food was delivered. She did check on us after the appetizer came out, but after the dinner came out she did not. She asked us if we needed anything else when she brought the meal and then didn't come back until she noticed my empty plate. So just that one little blemish is not a big deal. The food was awesome, but I though there was way too much sauce with my grilled salmon (see pic). A drizzle of it would have been much better. Now, I am highly concerned though after seeing another post that their health inspection score was a 70! I looked it up and that is true, unfortunately. That is very problematic. A score of 70 is 100% unacceptable, period. I am shocked to say the least. We never dine anywhere if the score is below a 90, but forgot to check this place. A score like that could make someone sick. Maybe that is why it was much less busy that the previous Saturday night (?). It's a nice restaurant with a fabulous outdoor patio. I certainly hope that there was an earth-shattering shake-up in the kitchen after that score back in February. A 70... I sure hope you guys can get your act together. We'll come back again after your score gets back into the 90s, where it should be.
Update 4/19: Congratulations to the Palmer's team for their health inspection score of 100!!! That shows commitment and determination to return to the top. Obviously the people here care very much and they deserve another...
Read moreAfter over four and a half years of regularly dining out (and then giving good Google reviews) with our Pomeranian…. We had an atrocious experience at Palmer’s.
When we arrived and were told we had a 25-30 minute wait (no problem at all) the hostesses all oohed and ahhed over our baby.
Once seated in the patio area, my husband and I noted a baby crying, a 5ish year old boy running around close by and three 6-10 year old girls running around the patio area as well. When Duke (our almost 5 year old Pomeranian) started barking at the kids running around we got several glares. I mentioned to my husband how odd it was that the family of the boy looked at us rather than keeping an eye on their child. I even had to tell the boy to back up away from our table bc our puppy bites. (The adults didn’t bother moving or looking at their child. And I shouldn’t have to tell a 5 year old child to move away from my table regardless of if I have a dog).
We were enjoying our drinks and appetizer when the manager came to tell us that even though they are “dog friendly”-They had received several complaints and would like to move us. I asked if they had received any complaints about wailing babies or running children… (I didn’t receive an answer but rather a stutter). I told him that he could bring us our check for what we had enjoyed thus far and we would leave. We hadn’t complained about the children running amok but that is exactly what our dog was barking at. He did, kindly, give us the burger and Brussels sprouts we had ordered gratis TOGO.
We arrived at our hotel with no plastic ware in the bag for our Brussels sprouts. After we split our burger with our hotel plastic ware- we noticed not only that it had no condiments on it, but it was very undercooked (even though my husband had asked for medium well). I wouldn’t generally complain about a free burger but after essentially being unceremoniously kicked out- it was less than appetizing. The Brussels sprouts were amazing, though! Worth the trip to the lobby to get the plastic ware.
Our server was great! He was attentive, quick, and friendly! And I felt so awful that he was put in such an awkward position (and tipped well to hopefully make up for it, as it was most certainly not his fault).
So- if you’re looking for a retreat to eat, drink and let your children run wild without watching them with no cares in the world… This is the spot for you! If you’re looking for a dog friendly dining experience- would...
Read moreSomeone please call 4-1-1 as this is the hottest spot in Peachtree City!! This spot is long overdue and overly welcomed to a city that goes to sleep early. Palmer’s is consistent in it’s delivery of well- flavored and gorgeously presented American cuisine. There are two sides to this eatery: by day is it a comfortable and relaxed spot for lunch. It is laid back and sophisticated. Customer service is naturally impeccable as it is well laid out each time. This is a staff that aims to please with a smile. The second side is a stark contrast to the day, especially on weekends. It is full of a good noise as the patrons are diverse consisting of the locals as well as those who have heard about the wondrous rage of this bustling night spot. It is reminiscent of the old Buckhead in Atlanta before things got crazy. Palmer’s is just that satisfying for old Atlantans who remember those fantastic days of Buckhead. This place has an incredible pulse and the music is great! The lines on the weekend? Long- but, oh so worth it! We waited for 45 minutes with no regrets. Locals are loving this place, but it is closed on Sundays. So what do you eat once you get a hold of this holy grail called Palmer’s? Our party started off with the beef brisket nachos. The portions are generous and reasonably priced. Our server on the most recent Friday was Eric. Thanks for the memories! We transitioned to the burgers and Southwestern salads. Our server/host was attentive and accurate. The place was filled with laughter and sealed with great drinks and eats. This is a very competitive spot! It is what Atlanta represents: it is a mixture of weekday low key pleasure and a sexy nighttime vibe. It works for family outings and just as well for a date night. Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name? Nah, I’m going to Palmer’s! I will see you there under the beautiful sky of a...
