Wow, I just read through some reviews of this place and I'm not sure what is going on or how it could have this high rating. First, we all know that Covid has happened and I've given this place chance after chance this past year in hopes that maybe, this time things would be different. Today, I'm just done. This place has weird hours 7am-8pm. So you can choose, do you want breakfast or do you want to make yourself late. That's why it's always empty in the morning for rush hour. Then, they rarely operate the app. Oh, they will tell you it's "down" but then, you'll have an employee like I got today who quickly replied yes when I asked if that was done purposely. She said they were "short-handed" The only way you could order was to go through the drive thru, all of the drive ups had signs that said "Sorry :-( Drive thru only." So, I gave it a chance anyway seeing as my order was being taken by someone outside to make me feel like I was at chick-fil-a ... I waited through the line, which was wrapped all the way around the building, it moved fairly quickly. I thought well nothing else is working for them, so maybe this is a good thing. Got to the window, was given the wrong amount to pay but after fumbling the young lady got my order correct and took my card. Then, while waiting for receipt, I was again offered the wrong food this time, but what looked like a perplexed manager of sorts. Almost as if she wanted to argue for a second, how could I be the wrong car, lol... Um, yes, I managed to jump line in my car. Eyes rolling, then I was finally given my order and it was lukewarm, my tea was watered down and my food was not good. Now, I know it sounds like I'm being a total @ss but honestly I'm not, see this happens at this location ... all... the... time! I've waited forever for food at the drive up and then been handed food that a 10 year old could better prepare. I'm not sure if it's an employee retention problem, a management issue, or just simply that no one here cares. One would think, after a nice renovation that management would put in a little effort. I can honestly say, I have lived in Pelham for 13 years. My kids grew up coming to this spot after ballgames, late night snacks, etc and the food was always good. Not sure why they even redone this restaurant because it has been horrible since day one of their new re-opening. Anyone who eats at Sonic normally goes for the drive up. I could care less about the drive thru or the inside. Also, was great because you could go at 10pm at night for a treat. Whoever is running this location needs to do better but I for one, have given it my last go. Do yourself a favor and if you are craving sonic, go to...

Original: Join me as I walk you through the experience I had today at this location on Sunday October 2nd, 2022 at 2:30PM.
I pulled into the parking lot and half of the menu boards had signs that stated "Orders must go through the drive-thru." Well, they have inside seating and I had my daughter with me so I parked and we walked to the door. Locked. No sign. Walked to the next door. Locked. No sign. Ok, I guess we are going through the drive-thru. I wait in line and the girl says "What 'chu want?" No greeting. I state that I would like 2 orders of cookie dough bites. She repeats that into her cell phone. She gives me the price and I said, "Ok, thank you." No reply from her. I get to window and the girl states the price and holds out her hand for payment. No greeting or anything friendly. I pay and she immediately hands us the ice cream that goes with the order. It's 83 degrees today but I guess I'll let these melt while we wait for the rest. She hands holds the bag out of the window when it's finally ready and doesn't say a word. I take it and she immediately closes the window. My daughter said they only gave us one after checking the bag. I got the girl's attention and then told her. No word was spoken by her and she slammed the window shut. I saw her grabbing her head and walk a few steps back and was talking to someone. She came back and said the guy gave us all 6 of the bites in one bag. I was thinking Ok, I asked for two orders but I'll deal with it, and then said ok, thank you. No reply, just closed the window. We park and my daughter tells me there are no spoons. Ok. No napkins. Ok. Ice cream is melting but I live 15 minutes away so I head home. We get home and these cookie dough balls are TOO fried. They were tough, even. The vanilla ice cream had almost no flavor, either.
Management should be embarrassed. This was a bad experience and makes me not want to spend my money there, again. It also makes me wish I hadn't gone there in the...
Read moreI don't think I've been this upset at a drive thru in my life. Worked a 12 hour day and my daughter wanted Sonic. We pulled into the drive thru and right up to the speaker. Waited for 15 min and no one asked to take our order. I thought about pulling in a stall but was like .. we're next so I didn't want to lose my place in line. At that point, I thought the intercom was broken so we pulled up to the window and explained what happened. I was a little irritated but asked to place my order. I was then told they couldn't take my order and said I needed to get back in line. I wasn't happy and she said she'd get the manager. We waited for another 4-5 minutes waiting on a manager. I was so upset at this point , I told my daughter to pull off. I decided to call and ask for the manager to let her know what happened and got all the way back home before she came to the phone. She explained that the 2 people working the window are in training. She then asked, why are you calling .I said your intercom is broken and you should probably close the drive thru . I was told that it wasn't, they didn't know there were cars in line. Btw 5 cars drove off that was behind us. She basically said I could drive all the way back and wait ...then she'd help us. I explained we will not be coming back today or any other day. I placed a mobile order on the app to the other Sonic that is further away. Unfortunately, this isn't the 1st time it's taken quite some time to get food from this location....even with no other customers waiting. I really can't believe the response from the manager either. The other Sonic in Pelham near alabaster is WAY better. Even though it further away, I'll drive...
