This review does not reflect the quality of the food. It reflects the service. I had Dickey's barbecue delivered three times in one week. The first two times everything was delicious. And there was plenty of food. The servings were appropriate for adult size meals at $30. Or around $30. So I bragged and bragged and bragged about this place to my fiance and friends. I told my fiance how good it was. I told her how much food they give you. So we decided to order. This was the third order for me this week. It was the first order for her. When the food came, we opened up the container and the meat occupied less than half of the container. It looked like two sample size servings. At first, I thought it was a kid's meal. So I double checked my order. There was just almost no meat in this order. To give you an idea of what it looked like, the pulled pork and brisket, from a two meat entree, made up about the size of four chicken nuggets. So I contacted Dickey's to let them know my concern. The female manager who answered the phone, was incredibly rude and arrogant. She told me that that was how much food I was supposed to get. She told me that the first two orders that I got must Have been wrong. She told me that there was nothing that they could do. It cost $30 to get a quantity of meat that was no bigger than that of four chicken nuggets. I was embarrassed after I did all that bragging to my fiance and friends about how good this restaurant was. I'm embarrassed for Dickey's that they have a manager like the one that I talked to today. I am so glad that I have so many views on my reviews so that other people will not waste their money here. It's unfortunate. The food is delicious, but today's experience, will prevent me from ever ordering there again. And I hope that others follow suit. I will be sure to follow up with my friends to let them know about today's experience, before they too waste their money. If you've ever seen the movie Idiocracy, then you can understand what the service I received today was like. So I spent $100 this week there. And, I probably would have done the same for several weeks. My friends probably would have done the same. So because of the arrogant attitude of this one manager, they will likely lose out on thousands of...
Read moreStopped here for a quick dine-ij dinner with my girlfriend, we had a bit of a wait despite being second in line, the cashier was having issues with the register, although she seemed to stay positive and work through the issues.
The inside of the restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was on-par for a Dickey's restaurant (the only other Dickey's I have been to was in New Mexico), the tables were wobbly and the tablecloth stood out - my girlfriend said the designs on it reminded her of Demogorgon from stranger things.
The prices, although a bit high, are roughly the same as other BBQ restaurants and chains around Phoenix/Glendale, but where the biggest problem comes in and the reason it doesn't get a better rating is the portion sizes were below average, making the overall value of the meal not good.
I decided to get a brisket combo and swap my fries for a small potato salad, the cup only contained 2-3 small bites of salad, the sandwich didn't have near the amount of brisket on it as pictured on the menu and the ice maker on the coca-cola freestyle machine wasn't working.
My girlfriend decided to go with the double meat plate for $17 and added a large Mac and cheese, which was the only decently portioned item we received. She got chicken and pork as her two meats, both portions of meat were very small, she was very disappointed for the price paid.
Another thing we noticed with the desserts is that they are also very small and pre-packaged, not fresh baked. However for almost $4 each you would assume they were made fresh.
There are no other condiments readily available for your fries aside from the 3 lackluster BBQ sauces in the warming pots. At the time, the sweet BBQ was low and left open by the previous user.
The 3 options of BBQ available are
Sweet - basically just McDonald's Tangy BBQ Original - tastes like any widely available store bought Smoky barbeque sauce. Spicy - I did not try this one...
Read moreThis place stole my money. I placed an order through the Dickey's website 7/4 around 8pm for Brisket and Jalapeño sausage. I received a call from the store saying they were out of brisket, but was offered a cheaper meat with no mention of them adding additional food to my order to equate to the cost of the brisket. I politely declined, because why am I going to receive a pound of a cheaper cut of meat at a higher price? I asked the girl for a refund and she stated she needed to receive authorization from the owner for that to occur, then proceeded to put me on hold. She came back on the line and said the owner agreed to the refund. On Monday, 7/7, I called the store to ask for an ETA on when I should expect the refund. I believe the guy said his name was Ryan and that the refund should be in my account no later than that Wednesday. Wednesday came and the refund never posted. I gave it an extra day because of the holiday, but still didn't receive anything. I disputed the charge with my bank and I assume the store lied again as my claim was denied, despite providing the call log. If you guys were sold out of an item, why even allow customers to be able to place the order on your website? I'm going to see if there is a corporate contact that can rectify this. Out of the 20+ years I have lived in AZ, I have never experienced such a situation with any establishment. I very rarely post negative reviews to this degree, but this is beyond unacceptable and I don't want anyone else to experience what I did with their online ordering. Posting a screenshot of the call log in the event they want to try and...
