I came into this place with very high hopes that I would love the food because it was something new that I had never had, and the reviews were mainly positive. Sadly, that was not the case for me. This review is purely based on my girlfriend's and I experience.
I wouldn't recommend this place if you are looking for flavor. My order consisted of Pork Gyoza and Pho Nam, and my girlfriend ordered Tonkotsu Ramen. I was very excited to try this place out because it was new. I never had Pho, and from the reviews, it seemed like an excellent place to get some Pho and noodles. All I could taste in my Pho was cilantro and hot water very, very, and I mean very bland. The brisket was tender but flavorless. They serve the meal with some veggies, sriracha sauce, and hoisin sauce. I tried both, hoping they could save this meal, but they did nothing for me. I took two bites of the Pho and regretted coming to this place. If this is what authentic Pho and noodles taste like, than I'm not interested and it's very overhyped. My girlfriend ate more of her food than I did but had the same overarching complaints. She did say that the egg was the best thing in her bowl, so there's that.
A part of me felt bad because I could tell on one of the waiter's faces that he knew I didn't like the food. He came back about two times to check on us in a span of 15 minutes, and my bowl looked the same as when he brought it to me each time. I just asked for the bill and got out of dodge immediately.
The décor is nice, but the building gets pretty cold as people enter and exit, especially if you sit at one of the tables in front of the door.
Overall, if you want to try this place, take the risk. Everything isn't for everybody, and I just took the loss and...
Read moreWife's has such a cozy comfortable atmosphere and very polite and professional staff. The location is on the smaller side but it was perfect for my small group and honestly felt cozy and intimate. Our server was lovely she made sure our waters were refilled before they were even empty and we were checked on regularly.
To start our meal we shared several appetizers (takoyaki, pork buns, and summer rolls) which all came out fast and fresh! The takoyaki was the best I've had in the area and they did not skimp on the bonito flake and the pickled veg with the pork buns added such a nice flavor and texture!
We also tried several different drinks (passion fruit green tea, kumquat & lemon green tea, and a Vietnamese iced coffee) all were very tasty and the kumquat and lemon had a flavor profile I haven't seen at any local boba shops!
Entrees were also delicious across the board! We each got something different so we could try bites of the others and get a feel for the offerings (Beef Fried Rice, Beef Yaki Soba, and Pho Nam). The rice was cooked to perfection, the noodles in the yakisoba were the perfect texture and did a great job soaking up all the sauce, and the pho broth was divine.
We finished with green tea mochi which had really cute plating and was delicious to boot.
My only regret was being too immersed in the food and my company to take pictures, a mistake I won't make in the future!
Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu, thank you for a...
Read moreI walked in and ordered takeout. I waited about 10mins at an incredibly clean and sleek bar seating area with a clear view of their bubble tea cafe. My order included the summer rolls with peanut Thai sauce and the pho tai. Overall, I was impressed with the atmosphere.
Asian cuisine is my absolute favorite so I may be overly critical. Top to bottom, best quick asian food available in Perrysburg and surrounding areas. My summer roll had the makeup to be a great roll (I did order it in the fall and that could be my fault); but, the mango wasn’t quite ripe and a bit woody and here and there some of the leafy greens were specked with brown spots. I will say the sauce accompanying had fantastic flavor, though I think it could be thinned for easier dipping.
The pho tai was everything I expected of pho. Plenty of high quality meat! The broth was savory but didn’t have the Vietnamese spice I usually associate with pho, like cinnamon/clove flavor to it. This may just be a chef’s preference. When I order it again, I may request additional basil greens for my topping as two were only provided.
Can’t say enough how happy I am for this new spot in Perrysburg and I will be returning with friends and family to share...
