Ordered Americano(hot) and Jasmine milk tea large with light on ice. The two drinks took about 15-20minutes to come out. I was confused and asked the clerk if he made it with light ice because when I punched the straw in, can hardly stir the drinks. He explained, “it is light ice, that’s why the tea level is not at the top. And the sugar level is less. If you want more sweet, we can make it more sweet.” I haven’t try the drink yet but told him the sugar level is fine but was confused about the amount of ice in there. Just wanted to make sure. He said “oh yes it is light ice already, as you can see the drink level is not at the top” again. Then I said “ohh so how should I order for next time if I want very little ice?” He responded, “just order more less ice.” He said “they used large ice cube that’s why it’s like that”. First time went there was their soft opening and didn’t have a good experience the , and today wanted to give it another try. But, we don’t think we will be going back again. The Hot Americano(we don’t mind and didn’t want to wait another 15-20 minutes) was full of ice just like...
Read moreI feel bad leaving a negative review for a new spot but I really did not enjoy the banh mi I got here :( prices weren’t posted online, so I went in and a grilled pork banh mi was $9 and some change. Kinda pricey for a banh mi imo, but I understand food costs rising etc.
I would honestly give the banh mi a one star. The bread was stale, the pickled vegetables tasted really bland and there was little meat on it. There was very little filling in general, see attached image, and the stale bread was the main takeaway after eating it. The $9 price tag on it was insane for what I received and I was extremely disappointed. If food costs are attached to the price of the sandwich, why was it so small and empty?
The service was fine. I probably wouldn’t come here again, there wasn’t much redeeming about it. I only got the banh mi so maybe their drinks are better.
I understand it’s a new location, and the only reason it’s not receiving a 1 star is bec the service was fine but the food really deserves...
Read moreAmong the numerous establishments in Philly offering boba and similar mixed drinks, BB TEE HOUSE is notable for its signature egg foam coffee, a drink I haven't found elsewhere. The availability of Vietnamese food items and snacks is also nice.
I find myself inclined to return frequently, primarily for this signature coffee. However, at $7.50, I feel I'm not getting my money's worth due to the preparation. The cup is often filled extensively with crushed ice, while the actual coffee is only about a quarter of the volume, which doesn't entirely permeate the ice before the egg foam is added. For this reason I have to take 1 star off until the next time I return and there's less ice and more coffee and foam!
On the other hand, I have enjoyed other beverages from BB TEE HOUSE, and the service has consistently...
