Locust Bar/Club — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Nothing but rude and uncalled for behavior by some old blonde bartender. She must be the owner because I would NEVER have her as my employee. Stopped in on Cinco de Mayo. We were happy to see they had taco specials. Well, if your establishment is having specials that day, perhaps you should put on extra help. Took over fifteen minutes just to get a can of beer. When the food came out, orders were wrong. She said, "I got nine thousand taco orders here. I'm not asking you what you ordered. I'm telling you what I have." Then when a friend asked what they had on tap he was told by her, "The same thing we've had for the past four years." I hope you treat your locals well, cause with employees like that, you will never get any new business. We wanted to give her a piece of our minds, but remained quiet and for whatever reason, even tipped. We were nothing but polite and patient. There are plenty other of places in the city to eat. We love "dive" bars and don't mind getting our balls busted, but that's when they know us and we know them. Again. This woman must be the manager or owner....or doing the owner, because her behavior has no place in the...

A great family owned and operated corner bar. There is nothing pretentious...good drinks, great bar food, and great staff. Mostly regulars....which is nice.

I don't get to stop in as much these days even though I work literally a block away. When I do stop in, I'm always treated like I'm there every day. The "true regulars" are always welcoming...might ask where I'm from...crack a few jokes about sports...all in good fun. The corner bar vibe is spot on...patrons sipping their usual and watching a game, talking trades and solving the worlds problems lol.

Locust bar is a true hidden gem among the crowded, overpriced bars of center city Philadelphia. It is not a tourist trap. So if you are in the city looking for a cool spot, with cool people, some elbow room, with good grub, drinks, and prices...you'll be in the right spot!!! You'll see carpenters, nurses, plumbers, doctors, lawyers, police officers, roofers, taking a break here. I'm one of them.

BTW: The wings are a go to for sure. Whenever we have an event at work...i.e. birthday...promotion...holiday...the wings are already...

Unfortunately had a horrible experience while trying to order food for pickup over the phone. Called twice the first time, it was ringing for quite some time, thought I had dailed the wrong number. Checked and recalled only to be belittled by the lady on the other side. Didn't even get a word in, and got hung up on. Its unfortunate because this place is a great bar to hangout at.

Edit: Thanks, I really appreciate the reply. I totally understand that it does get busy, you guys do have some of the best wings. I would've been totally fine with that explanation however it was just the interaction that I thought was...
