It was an easy walk in the rain from my Wills Eye Hospital appointment. We were hungry after a two hour wait for the medical staff. Full disclosure that I do not primarily eat vegetarian which may or may not have influenced my rating. Originally headed to Green eggs a further walk, we retreated to yellow Bicycle because of the location and cool name. The chili with cornbread was phenomenally good, and the small size (small or large available) was a solid portion and reasonably priced. My craving was for the egg salad, probably subconsciously identifying vegan and egg salad as a good marriage from some early days in Oregon or Miami. There was no egg salad so opted for tuna salad. Built upon a simple lightly toasted sourdough bread (spectacularly tasty), the sandwich was simple with a small bit of lettuce and tomato. There was also some type of seasoned special sauce which was okay. Overall, nice sandwich. We also purchased the sweet potato burrito which was not favored. It was packed with greens and was very wet and fell apart just from looking at it and thinking about biting into it. Almost like the burrito had a mind of its own. The black beans in the jam-packed wrap helped their fellow ingredients to keep their dignity. And on a positive note, walked away with a full day of fiber. Small selection of drinks but simple can be great most of the time. Lastly, the coffee was amazing and really rounded out the experience. The interior had seating for around 8 people and was cozy for a quick stop. Cool interior design. Again simple and effective. And if yellow or bikes are in your wheelhouse, you’re in luck. Go forth and eat young person, go forth and eat. And please let me know how the egg salad tastes. I’ve been thinking about...
Read moreCute little place just off of 10th at locust this place has many vegan options. I ended up ordering three items. I ordered the Samosa burrito, carrot loxs on a bagel with cream cheese, and vegan chili. I took a bite of the carrot lox bagel and cream cheese not realizing it was regular cream cheese no big deal tasted really good though I gave the remainder to a friend. I’m not sure if vegan cream cheese was an option, but it was clearly marked. The chili was very good also freshly made chunks of carrots, black beans, kidney beans, and edamame The Samosa burrito was fresh. It’s just not something that a fan of for my own taste but the ingredients in it were done very well and I’m sure if somebody enjoys this style of burrito won’t be disappointed. I’m just not a fan of the type of spice that they use in it but it was well-made. The coleslaw stood out which I really liked. The muffin was excellent. I had a banana nut pudding muffin cake on the outside soft, like pudding on the inside, my reasoning for giving the food to four star Was not because the food was bad, it just wasn’t for me. I’m not quite sure. I understand the carrot lox on a bagel why not just make it vegan cream cheese since the carrot is already vegan, vegan cream cheese is just as...
