Lucas Burger — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I’m updating my review after speaking with the owner. The issues I mentioned has been discussed, addressed, and resolved. I tested today and it was similar to what I remembered from my first visits. I wish them the best of luck with new start moving forward. My previous review in below is no longer a concern: I'm leaving this review to inform the owner about my recent experience, as this store used to be great. Initially, I had a wonderful experience when a gentleman (I believe it was the owner) was working, and the burger was perfect. However, my subsequent visits have been disappointing. The service has been poor, and the quality of the food has dropped significantly. The taste I once enjoyed is no longer there.

Today, a different employee was working, and he was rude and difficult to communicate with. This is the second time he's ruined my order by not following the recipes they’ve advertised. When I pointed out missing ingredients in my burger—ingredients clearly listed on the menu sign above his head and in pictures—I had to show him a picture of the correct ingredients. He responded with an unhelpful "no coming here!" I thought I heard him wrong, so I asked him to repeat himself, and he said the same thing again. I considered returning everything, but because my kids were hungry, I decided not to. This level of disrespect is unacceptable.

As for the food, the burgers were undercooked and, once again, made with the wrong recipes. The employee seemed rushed, trying to handle three customers with eight burger orders at once, all by himself. The bread and onions were burned (forget about the caramelized onions as advertised—those weren’t even properly cooked and some burned some raw!). The raw meat mix was not fresh—it had already turned black before cooking (it used to be pinkish a month ago and scoped in front of clients but not today!). The meat itself had no flavor and tasted completely different, with no seasoning compared to what it used to be. Honestly, the taste was totally different and not like what I had experienced before, and I’m left hoping it wasn’t rotten. Anyway, It’s truly unfortunate, as this business started strong recently, but it now seems to be heading in the wrong direction. I definitely won’t be returning, but I hope the owner reads this review and takes action to address what’s happening. I generally want to see local businesses with potential flourish and grow,...

I was really impressed the first few times I ordered from Lucas, it was one of, if not, the best smash burgers I've ever had. However, my experience has been super disappointing the last couple of times I ordered from them. Namely, when you order online there's only one option for burger--for the first several times we ordered they gave us a double patty burger (which makes sense since the price online is the same as the double in the store) but the last 2 times I ordered, we received a tiny burger with a single patty and way less toppings than before. Worse, the burger wasn't even a smash burger! It was just a thin little patty. The tiny little burgers I received the last few times I ordered were super disappointing and were absolutely not worth $14 a piece. Sad since the first burgers I had were so good but I don't plan on coming back any time soon. I'm not sure if it's because there's a new person working the grill or not, but it seems like there needs to be more training to create the quality of burger they had when they first opened. I couldn't recommend this place to anyone...

This restaurant is a quick lunch place with lots of counter space with stools, and a few small tables. I can’t say that the service was bad just not accommodating. It was our first time at this restaurant and I was sorry we hadn’t made our food choices before arriving, even though we were the only ones inside.Our burgers were flavorless smashed meat, but the fresh toppings carried the burger. For me if the meat had flavor, it would have been a really great burger. We try to find new burger places in our area to visit and for us this is a place to eat at when you’re in the area, not sure I would drive far to get...
