Waitress was fantastic and food was very good. Though, at the end of our experience we came across one of the most rude restaurant workers I think I have ever encountered. We were on a time crunch, so we got up with the bill to see if we could pay, and she comes running up the stairs accusing us of snooping behind the counter. When we told her we were not behind the counter, she told us she saw us behind there and continued to accuse us of being back there WHILE serving another customer. We were not behind the counter. We explained we wanted to pay because we were on a time crunch and she grabbed our check and cards from us with an eye roll and then said to us, "you guys can go sit down and wait." When we didn't go sit down immediately, she grew very irate and angry and then demanded once again that we go sit down. She would not leave until we sat back down at the table. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but considering 1. She wasn't our waitress 2. She had a very rude tone and a horrible attitude problem with her eye rolls and 3. We just didn't understand why we weren't "allowed" to stand by the cash register and wait, seeing as we had no interest in standing behind the counter or doing anything out of the ordinary- we just wanted to pay and get to our concert, it all just made what started as a very pleasant and delicious dining experience turn into the worst dining experience I've had in a while. Because of the blue haired lady, neither me or the other 2 people I was with will be returning to this restaurant. Being accused of things we were not doing only to have it topped off with rude demands and eye rolls and unnecessary and immature remarks is not something I'm looking for when going out to eat while...
Read moreThis place tells you how the service will be up front: rotten. The service was potentially racially discriminatory, my burger was overcooked and had a hair in it. I would give zero stars if I could.
I came to this restaurant for a lunch meeting with my immediate manager and the company’s owner (who met up with us about 20 minutes after my manager and I sat). We told the waitress that we would be waiting for a third to join us, yet we’re repeatedly approached by the waitress who rushed us to order something/continuously checked on us despite what we had just told her. There were open tables and no line. Once our party was all together we ordered our food, and refilled our drinks right away. The waitress rung our orders in and about 1 minute later came back requesting a card to be placed on file, “just because of a recent case of people not paying their bills”. Our group was at the time the only table with people of color at it. The manager (who I believe was simply the most senior waitress) explained it was a new policy that all the customers were complying with, but we had been approached easily 10 separate times by the same waitress without such a request being noted or signage posted anywhere. She laughed off question and walked away. Once I finally received the food I ordered, my burger was overcooked, dry and there was a hair in it. At least they didn’t mess up my tap...
Read moreThe food is a C-, the drinks are a C. I will say, if you are a black woman the place is a F (the servers have a thing against black women-I’ve legit seen the bartenders just not serve them or be extremely rude to them!, if you are a man I guess it’s a C. Whatever race/gender you’ll wait 30-40 minutes for mediocre, microwaved food and trash bartender service. Old city has wayyyyyy better bars. Positano, Cuba libre, sassafras, boucherie, revolution are all leagues better and very close by. *since they responded: read the 1-2 star reviews and Go on Yelp and see how bad of a place this bar is, the same racial aggressiveness is parroted from customers YEARS PRIOR. Not only that- but the lack of service! notice their reply and see how they never address how abhorrent their staff is; every response is irreverent and dismissive. Theirs a reason why they are rated below 4 stars on Google. And worse on Yelp… it’s not worth it
