I started Pilates after the physical therapist recommended to work on strengthening the core, after months of physical therapy for back and sciatica pain. The studio is very welcoming, comfortable and in a good location. Pamela demonstrates, instructs and modifies the exercises to my needs, always correcting posture and technique for safety and to get the best results from each exercise. She keeps me motivated and changes exercises on the reformer to keep classes interesting and challenging. By the way, some of the exercises can be intimidating at first, but after a few sessions you are gliding on the reformer with confidence. I'm Very Happy with the results, not only it has relieved the pain, but I have increased flexibility, strength, better posture, confidence, definition on my arms, thinner legs and a flatter tummy! My primary care physician says he wishes more of his patients in their 40s had my body and mind characteristics: proper weight, good muscle tone, good balance and posture, a positive attitude. I believe much of this is due to Pamala's teaching.
My sessions with her go by very quickly: warm up exercises, stretching, balance and weight work, stability ball and mat work. Pamela has extraordinary recall of what I have done recently, and varies the pattern of work. She is very knowledgeable and thoughtful.
