To Cheba Hut Corporate: This may be a lengthy email, thank you in advance for your time and efforts. I have been enjoying the food from the downtown Phx location since Jan 2020 since working less than a mile away, and I even walk to Cheba Hut from my job. I spend a great deal of money here as I always get the Blunt size Power Plant, because I stopped eating meat Jan 1, 2020; I am still meat free!!! I eat at this Cheba Hut at least three times a week, no joke, which means I've spent approximately $200 in the last two months. I am not complaining because the food is always amazing and taste great, hence the number of visits within the past two months. Now, with that being said. First, the money that I had asked to be refunded from my last visit has not been refunded to my credit union account; huge concern. Second, something is wrong with my order almost every time, I had contacted Nate about one of the times (just once because of all the other times I hadn't said anything, and pretty much, just got tired of orders being incomplete and or merely incorrect). Nate was very gracious and helpful at the time, all was good. Unfortunately, the inconsistencies continued, but I had built a rapport with the employees, and they started to know and talk with each other to make sure my sandwich was right. Thirdly, now I'm being told by a manger who messed up my last order (just the other day) even though, "NO feta", was written on the order ticket, that she is restricting me from eating at this particular location, because she feels as though I have been disrepectful. I went to talk with Nate and of course he had her back (it appeared to me that they may be involved), but this is my opinion purely based on how different Nate was when she came over to us and asked if I wanted parmesan or feta? My response was why are you asking me how to make it when all you gta do is look at the receipt. My order was clear; Greek Salad (yes, I started trying the salads to avoid eating bread), NO feta and add black olives, period, parmesan doesn't even come on the salad that I ordered. I forgot to mention that prior to all this, she did make another salad, but it was not made correctly and didn't have very much salad mix like the first one, and to make things worse, she put the ranch containers inside the container where it was touching my food, which no one else did this in the past, they would put the containers in the bag or wrap in plastic wrap or some even handed them to me because the lids aren't very stable. I even have a video of what transpired the other day because it got to the point where another customer felt as though he could say something to me about the ordeal, like he was her advocate, which is a great thing, but I hadn't done anything wrong. She basically spoke extremely rude to me and berated me in front of a lot of patrons. She almost brought me to tears due to the disappointment that I felt from how she was treating me, and how embarraased I was, mind you I did not deserve any of her treatment towards me, other employees were even apologizing to me under their breath. I told them, Thank you", but they didn't do anything wrong. I even asked Nate, "Why am I being made to be the bad guy, when my food is being messed up, and I'm really disappointed in how much food is being wasted". He told me not to worry, that the food would be used, (whatever that meant). Anyways this whole ordeal has been on my mind, and I really wanted to eat there today, but didn't want to cause any problems. I was going to ask about my refund, but figured it best to ask you about getting my money back. And hopefully someone will talk to the manager, I don't know her name, in hopes that she doesn't talk to other customers the same way she did me. I'm really sad about all this, it's so unnecessary, seriously. Please get me my money back at least, it was approximately $7 and maybe some change; I have the...
Read moreCheba Hut is uniquely Southwestern in oh so many ways. Not just because their locations are in the Southwest, but because their offerings are so unique, so wild west, freeform in many ways, and not to mention unique. Yes, there are a lot of sandwich and sub places to choose from in the Valley, but none so unique onto itself as Cheba Hut. In their website introduction they declare “a feast spot for all sun spotted heathens, nerds, musicians, collectors and all weirdos of all types skunky!”, but in reality, anyone, including ‘normal’ people, will find the sub selections, bizarre names, distinctive ingredient combinations, the stores’ aesthetics, the Bohemian staff and service a wonderful and all-around superb experience. When I walk into my fave location, I go back in time to a moment in my early years where Hippies roamed and avantgarde was my convention. Not to mention, the incredible subs are amazing. No one can walk away without having a fave or two! With so many offerings, with eats like Jamaican Red, Kali Mist, Panama Red, Magic Mushroom, Apollo 13, the 5-0, KGB or the AK-47 one takes their own transcendental eating trip not on drugs but in the ingredients therein! I must be honest though, it’s been hard for me too come up with a favorite, as every toasted sub I’ve had here has been not only distinctive, but amazing! Maybe the KGB! That’s why we keep coming...
Read moreI wanted to provide some feedback regarding my experience at your establishment tonight. I believe the individual in the orange tie-dye top and dark gray D.A.R.E. hat was the lead or manager on duty. I encourage you to provide additional training on effective customer service and managing high-pressure situations during busy times.
I placed my order at 9:59 PM, with an expected ready time of 10:19 PM. However, my order was lost in the shuffle, and I did not leave the facility until 10:50 PM, nearly an hour later, after she finally instructed the team to remake it. During this time, I noticed that multiple customers who arrived after me received their orders before I did, despite mine being a single sandwich.
Additionally, the use of profanity in a customer-facing role was unprofessional and unnecessary. As someone who works in customer service, I understand the challenges of a busy environment. However, I also noticed that the cashier working tonight was doing an excellent job and deserved recognition, yet she was treated rudely by tie-dye shirt. Leadership is about setting an example—offering encouragement and maintaining composure, especially during peak times, fosters a more positive work environment.
I hope this feedback serves as a constructive opportunity for...
