Disclaimer: all food and beverage discussed is strictly from the happy hour menu. For a happy hour menu, I do not know of many that can beat The Macintosh. My wife and I started with the Crispy Chicken Biscuit and a couple of cocktails. Her drink was the Pineapple Infused Vodka (not pictured although I do regret this as it was absolutely incredible) and I began with a sazerac. When we received the chicken biscuit, we immediately fell in love with the food. My wife was tentative of the dish until her first bite, at which point I believe she jested that she would cut off my fingers if I dared try to steal a bite off her plate. After our first amazing dish we decided to try a few more happy hour plates as well as new drinks. We proceeded to order the HH wings, the HH short rib poutine, as well as the HH bacon steak mac and cheese. The mac and cheese gave the chicken biscuit a run for its money. Thick cut slabs of pork belly seasoned to perfection gave a buttery flavor to the rich mac and cheese. The short rib poutine came in third place that evening, while being a tasty appetizer, it could not hold a candle to the biscuit or the mac and cheese. Regarding the wings, you can find better wings nearby. The quantity you receive for the price is great, although the acidity of "cowboy sauce" leaves much to be desired. Overall I left happy with the food and drink at The Macintosh happy hour menu and will definitely be back. After leaving, I would normally have given the food here a 4 star review rather than 5 but there was one thing that made this meal memorable and worthwhile. Our server (Emma is her name I believe) embodied the definition of customer service. Her recommendations and genial attitude made the experience worthy of this 5 star rating.

I would absolutely recommend The Macintosh for an amazing dinner with friends and family, OR to take a date that you’d like to impress and connect with. First of all, the shopping center which houses the Macintosh is filled with delicious little gems, but you should certainly make stopping here your priority. Our server, Mary, highly suggested many of the items off of their lengthy menu and we weren’t let down a bit. We started with the ‘Common Ground Brussels’ that absolutely blew my mind with their tasty, charred little bits accompanied by juicy bacon and the balsamic glaze that gives a nice bite. Left me wanting another order! Next up was the ‘Bag o Bones’ from their happy hour menu. The simple bag presentation, filled with perfectly cut shoestring fries, fall off the bone ribs, and their house ‘Crack Sauce’ was just what we needed before our entrees. I personally had the ‘Twisted Noodle Salad’ which I opted to have topped with shrimp. An amazing combo of tons of ingredients that won’t steer you wrong! Fortunately, our group decided that we were all up for a family dinner style meal and shared our plates throughout our visit. This means I also got to try the French Street Gumbo, Shrimp Po’ Boy, Grassroots Vegetable Chop salad, and their specialty BBQ plate. Amazing food, and amazing service by both our waitress Mary and the rest of the staff. From the moment I stepped in and mentioned our reservation, the hostess was so sweet and kind, and gladly walked me over to a reserved table on the patio while I waited for the rest of my group to arrive. Thanks so much for a great dinner - We’ll definitely be back for more!

Category: Elevated Comfort Food. An open and airy elevated casual spot with cut-above comfort food. The exposed steel-trussed ceiling and HVAC system give this spot a quasi-industrial feel. We like the busy U-shaped black granite bar with red leather high-backed stools, where we like to dine if it's just the two of us, so we can people watch across the bar. For people who need TVs, the bar has them facing all sides. U-shaped booths border the front windows, high tops for four populate the area past the bar, and steel-framed butcher block regular tables can be found near the booths. There is an Edison-bulbed outdoor patio for al fresco dining. I saw heaters for cool weather and fans for hot, but I'm not sure about misters. The menu is an eclectic mix of classics (Caesar and Waldorf Salads, maybe with a house twist), burgers, and elevated comfort food mains (baby backs, blackened ahi, salmon risotto, Duroc pork chop), and New Orleans fare. In fact, it seems like the chef's heart is in NOLA (we often feel that way too). In addition to standard menu items you’d find in the French Quarter (shrimp and grits, blackened redfish, red beans & rice), the recurring daily specials posted on a sandwich board outside are straight from The Big Easy (etouffe, NOLA swordfish). We happily shared the Roti + Rib Combo, very tasty, very generous chicken and ribs. The beer choices are plenty and there is a sufficient number of red wines under $50. Excellent service. Pretty disappointed with my first visit here. I’m fairly new to the area and hadn’t heard of this restaurant before. I was going to Hopdoddy for a burger on my way home from work. Their bar top was full so I walked around looked up the menu and saw they had burgers here too. The food looked great. I walked in and the person at the door was turned around. Probably didn’t notice me but I didn’t want to just walk past them and assume bar was open seating. When they finally turned around I confirmed bar was open seating and went for it. Was greeted immediately. Asked if I was doing food and I responded I was. Special was told to me. A few minutes later my drink order was taken. Then I waited. And waited. The guy next to me got his food delivered around when I got my drink. He finished his whole meal and I was still waiting to order. Working service I know how annoying it can when someone is just staring at you or waving you down. There were two bartenders and I wasn’t sure if they were both taking care of me or if I needed to wait for the one who took my drink order. They were making drinks for a 60-70% full restaurant. Friday at 6:30. I get it. I’d just hate to see service when the restaurant is 100% full. I alternated looking on my phone and awkwardly trying to make eye contact with someone. 15-20 minutes go buy before I’m asked about food. Just kind of disappointed because I had decided in the first couple minutes what I wanted and I was hungry. By the time I’m asked I had decided to leave and was already on Uber Eats ordering elsewhere. I hate being so negative and I will probably give this place another shot. Maybe not...

Unique, yet with a down-home vibe – in an industrial kind of way, this joint really impresses you when you walk in! I haven’t quite figured out how yet, but once you look at the menu, you begin to realize – what the heck am I going to choose!?! When you consider coming to The MacIntosh, it behooves you to think Southern… Contemporary Southern, with a little Southwestern thrown in for good measure, as well as getting ready for enlightenment towards a Southern refinement of sorts. The Southern Shrimp and Grits with slightly blackened shrimp, along with their jalapeño-cheddar, a Tasso ham relish with charred focaccia will enhance your understanding of this staple mile high above your expectations! I must say, the Ahi Poke Lettuce Wraps are nicely prepared, and the tastes are beyond expectation, the shrimp, butter lettuce, enough edamame not to overwhelm, and just the right proportions of red bells, scallions, jalapeños, with agave and touch enough with sesame seeds – really, really-good, I mean really, really good! Considering my wife likes nothing battered in beer, she adored the fantabulous IPA battered shoestring taters that hung along with her order of the very well prepared and tasty Riday Pacific Halibut! I have to say, these guys put in quite an effort to make things right, and it wasn’t just the meal, but the dessert of Butterscotch Pecan Pie, with incredibly prepped candied pecan and whipped cream, made this desert worth coming here on its own. Excellent work Gentlemen and Madams, as this food is worth repeat visits. Oh, I got it… the place is huge, massive, lotsa space! Fun place, tasty place and...
