From the moment I stepped up to the bar at HopDoddy Burger Bar in central Phoenix, I knew I was in for something special, and Delilah made that crystal clear. With her warm smile and effortless confidence, she transformed what could have been a simple order of a Diablo burger into an unparalleled dining experience.
Delilah’s passion for craft beverages was evident in every recommendation she made. When I asked what would pair beautifully with the fiery kick of the Diablo burger, she didn’t hesitate: “Try our house-made cucumber-mint lemonade with a mezcal float, to cool down that heat and complement the smoky notes.” The result was a revelation—a perfectly balanced libation that elevated the bold flavors of the burger rather than competing with them. It’s rare to encounter a bartender with such a nuanced palate and the skill to translate personal preferences into bespoke drink experiences.
Beyond her technical prowess, it was Delilah’s genuine interest in people that truly set her apart. She took the time to ask about my day, listened intently to my passion for spicy foods, and even shared insider tips on the best local spots for live music after closing time. Her recommendations were spot-on, reflecting a deep knowledge of the Phoenix scene that goes far beyond the four walls of HopDoddy.
Throughout the evening, Delilah maintained an enviable balance of efficiency and warmth. Even during peak hours, when the line at the bar stretched out the door, she managed to keep conversation flowing and drinks arriving without missing a beat. Every cocktail she crafted was a testament to her meticulous attention to detail—fresh herbs muddled to perfection, precise spirit measurements, and that extra flourish of flair that transforms a mere drink into a memorable moment.
Few bartenders combine technical mastery, heartfelt hospitality, and community knowledge as seamlessly as she does. Delilah is not just mixing drinks; she’s crafting experiences, one customer at a time.
In short, my evening at HopDoddy Burger Bar was nothing short of spectacular, thanks in no small part to Delilah. From her spot-on drink pairings—especially that genius mezcal-mint cooler—to her warm, attentive service, she elevated a casual burger outing into an extraordinary night out. If you find yourself craving the Diablo burger (which you absolutely should), be sure to pull up a stool at Delilah’s bar. You’ll not only leave with a satisfied appetite but with the lasting impression of an evening made unforgettable by one of the finest...
Read moreI frequent this establishment often and when I can I recommend it to family, friends and colleagues. Unfortunately, yesterday’s experience left a bad impression on me. I arrived there with my family it was about 6 of us. I made sure that we all knew what we were getting so that by the time we reached the counter it was a quick and painless process. The young lady helping us was extremely sweet and was not phased by the growing line behind us. She was definitely holding her own. The person I’m referring to was a man with glasses and longer hair. He was clearly having a very bad day and didn’t care who knew it. I asked my family to step aside while I ordered so there would be room for those behind us, since you have to wait to be assigned a table. They waited patiently off to the right. Well this rude waiter/employee looked that them and rather then ask them kindly to step aside so that he could get by, he kept throwing his arms up and to make matters worst he vocalized his annoyance to the women taking my order while making gestures at my family. I can’t begin to understand the amount of disrespect coming from this individual. He made gestures and was rude toward me and my family on more then one occasion and you think it would end there. I finally had table assigned to me and while they sat I asked the nice young lady if he (the rude employee) was having a bad day, you could tell she felt extremely embarrassed. I continued to observe him out of curiosity and he made gestures at and around other customers as well as slamming plates like a child when picking up after people. Had I not been with my family and children I would have taken the time to address it then and there. It isn’t too often that I can enjoy a nice time out with the majority of my family and it’s just disheartening that this would happen on one of those...
Read moreif you order go to the hopdoddy on camelback not the hopdoddy on scattsdale. at the hpdoddy on scottsdale. I ordered buffalo burgers. for the price of almost $17 a burger I was very disappointed with the portion size. the burger it's self was smaller then the bun while the pictures online show the burger big fitting the bun and being thick. what I got was smaller then the bun and half the thickness as it shows online. I also ordered milkshakes which were thin and soupy not thick like a milk shake should be. I was shocked that I had to go to the counter and place my order myself and was asked for a tip, there was nothing to tip for since i had no waiter/waittress to come to my table and take my order but I gave a small tip anyway, after seeing the prices and portion sizes and quality of food I wish I would have never tipped anything but it was too late. all this was done at the hopdoddy on scottsdale. I was traveling so later in the day when I went back to get food to take home for my husband I choose to go to the hopdoddy on camelback instead and try their food to see if there was a difference. omg what a difference!!! this time I just got burgers for the ride home for dinner. I tell you the buffalo burgers there looked like the pictures online they were thick and the size of the bun. out of both places the 70 bucks spent at both stores I feel like Scottsdale store didn't earn their money while the camelback store earned the money they made off me. i wished that I would have gave the tip to the store on camelback. at least their food looked like the pictures online and the portion size seemed right for the price of food. after going to camelback store I was a happy camper instead of feeling like I was robbed of my money. I recommend the hopdoddy on camelback if you want your...
