Being someone who works in retail, I can appreciate when there is an isolated incident that doesn't go as planned. But after reading reviews from other people with similar experiences, I must conclude that this is Standard Operating Procedure for this store and not unique.
Do not order pizza here and expect service. Read on.
I personally know my hometown Marco's franchisee, KP. When he learned I had changed jobs, he sent 5 pies at lunchtime, pro gratis. You know as I know, the first time someone ordered pizza, this gesture was paid in full.
Back to this location... at 805pm (time on the ticket), I ordered a pizza to be delivered to my vacation cabin. At 913pm, I called to follow up and was assured that the driver had just left with my pie and two others.
NOTE: Google maps lists this location as being 1.2 miles away and a 4 minute drive. In hindsight, I may have had a better chance of a timely pizza if I had driven to the store myself, defeating the purpose of delivery convenience.
The order arrived at 1030pm, a full half hour after the store had closed. If I had wanted a cold pizza for dinner, I would have brought one from the location in Panama City on the nine hour drive.
Saving Grace: driver Kay was apologetic for the late food. Someone owes her a decent tip as I could not offer more than $3 with the service I received. Someone knows where the ball was dropped tonight. Pay Kay.
Dear Corporate: Read the reviews on this Marco's and relieve them of their license. You have a terrific product but this franchisee does not reflect the quality I am accustomed to in my hometown. Forget your budget. Forget your payroll. I am your boss and I am not happy.
Sad thing is, I know corporate only sees the one star and does not read the content, They will never know WHY there is one star, only that there is one star. THE ONLY WAY to get the message across is to not order from this location. Lack of income will get the attention...
Read moreBest pizza and staff of any place on Earth!!! With the MILLIONS of people that flood to the Great Smokey Mountains during the Spring Break to New Years tourist season, traffic in Pigeon Forge comes to its normal stand still at peak traffic hours and any type of deliveries for that reason alone will take some time. Add to a long list of reasons why it can take some time is that up to 100 or more orders are being placed in a very very short time. Dine in, walk in, take out, carry out, pick up, uber eats, pre orders and delivery orders are all being made at the same time in order. Motel, resorts, camp grounds, condos, cabins, businesses, folks at home and work are all making their orders at the same time too. Add to the list pop up weddings, birthdays, banquets, sporting events, speaking seminars and friendly family get together orders all come at a moments notice too. Lots of reasons exist why it can take two+ hours for delivery when your only four minutes away is the number of orders taken and the content of those orders and your order # placement on that list. One order can consist of 50 pizzas, 100 subs with 100 bags of chips. That's one single order to be made with orders still coming in and the phones are rining non stop with folks lined out the door. Staff is working full steam and can only put so much in the ovens at one time. All those orders speak volumes for how good the pizza really is. And hey.... it's a...
Read morePlease don’t order from Marco’s pizza if you’re staying in a cabin or vacationing in the pigeon forge area. Because they hire drivers that will text you after delivering your pizza wanting to hangout or be your friend. It’s not safe at all. I tried for a while to get a hold of corporate and never got a call back. Fyi the lead manager at the store told me he would speak with the driver since he was new and can’t afford to lose a driver. But never once apologized for what happened. Acting like it was my fault and was very rude about it and I request for the main managers number and he said I would have to call back a week later since the main manager was on vacation. So I requested for another higher up manager and he said you’ll have to wait till he comes back from vacation. Just remember you’re vacationing in our beautiful state of Tennessee and you shouldn’t be worried about who’s going to be delivering your food. Smart idea would be go into the store and get your pizza if you want too order from them. You also might want to pay...
