Peaceful Serenity Cabin - Affordable Cabins
We stayed at this cabin during the week of Thanksgiving 2018. I did not contact guest services because my sister-in-law ask me not to while we were still there. I am writing the review for future guest benefit. The issues were not simple ones that could be immediately remedied. The entire cabin needs a complete overhaul, so there wasn’t much that could be done while we were there except leave, which we did leave a day earlier than scheduled.
Needs lots of work, far cry from Peaceful Serenity or a luxury cabin as advertised. Contrary to Affordable Cabins opinions, Affordable Cabins doesn’t mean run down with missing and broken parts.
Pictures are very deceiving, cabin is smaller an appears older that pictures show. Appears is only part of the issue, the cabin has been neglected and poorly maintained for years.
Ad says it sleeps 8 - Bunk bed in pictures is missing and replaced with day bed that sleeps one. Two of our group had to sleep on our own air mattress Ceiling Fans wobble Broken light in dining room and upper bedroom Kitchen is not properly stocked Appliance are the compact apartment size TV service list hundreds of free movies. Plays sound but no picture Smoke detectors do not work TV cables just nailed across the wall and ceiling in lower bedroom Roof leak with mold growth on ceiling of upper bedroom Dark water stain on wood floor at breakfast bar Numerous cracked floor tiles Fire extinguisher inspected October 2009 1 of 4 tv’s don’t work TV remotes missing batteries Lower bedroom is also the game room only separated by the stairs With heat on its very hot downstairs and cold upstairs No closet in lower bedroom, only a three drawer small dresser Pool table in poor condition with old felt and missing ball pockets Bare minimum décor – Lots of Just Bears Both doors to upper and lower rear decks and almost impossible to open Dirty linen – Stained & Hair No parking Spaces – 2 Vehicles must hug the corner of the cabin Washer is so small you can only wash 3-4 towels at one time Cabin is On side of drop off - need 4 wheel drive just to get up to cabin Door of microwave has a melted spot in center and takes 4 minutes to heat a cup of water Carpet is old green, dirty stuff from 1980’s Stains on furniture and a big tear in the back of the couch Fire place downstairs is missing 3 of the gas log Green algae growing in hot tub Black mildew growing around the edges of the bathtubs Have to wash towels and bath cloths every day Strong sulfur smell and sediment in cold and hot water. Flushed water heater at both tubs with no changes Main floor tub drain started leaking above ceiling of lower bath Lower bathroom toilet not secured to floor and rocks when sat upon Water from faucets and Ice in fridge smells awful Outdoor grill - one of three burners did not light and grill brush worn out, no tongs found in cabin for cooking or grilling

Read moreSo many awful serious complaints I will not take the time to write considering the owner sadly obviously will not take to heart. One reason, because my name is not on our reservation. ( although my last name is the same, all it takes is alittle common sense.) I wanted to apoligive when my husband called to complain because I trust management and/or workers that they are doing everything and anything in their power to care for their company. I then read others awful reviews and ended up having to apologize to my husband for not only the way he was treated by the owner when he called, but also getting alittle hateful about him being upset and calling during our vacation. We may never know if the hot tub actually works at cuddlers view (even though a very recent review says it was indefinitely out of order) because yes, I did make sure to let him know no one is to go in alone with my very loved already nervous small dog. Id go without a hot tub then have someone accidentally letting her out. I also should say that it's a sad situation we had to think to take pictures of the cabin before leaving in case of being scammed.
I do have two questions, one with maybe a obvious answer the other alittle weird.
Does the owner not realize every response is posted publicly? You humiliate not only the complainer, but also yourself. Owning a company of any kind is no dout hard work but also brings many blessings to be fortunate about. Enough to try and protect yourself, and the company's image.
How long has that hair clip been hanging on the back porch. You told my husband it was drained and cared for yet the hair clip I noticed 3 seconds after walking out was still there. Read moreBy far the worst company we have dealt with. We make at lease one trip a year to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg but will never book from this company again. When we had arrived to the cabin we booked, it was extremely dirty. The inside was covered in dust and dirt, broken tile floors and broken furniture. The toilets and showers were not clean and there were no supplies to clean the cabin, dishes or clothes. The beds has wrinkled up sheets with stains and hair in them. The outside was also layered in dirt so that the grill, chairs and hot tub were not usable. We were forced to stay one night because we arrived so late there was no where else to go. The next morning we got up early (two of us with multiple bug bites) to be at the office when they opened. The company REFUSED to refund any money so that we could find somewhere decent to stay. We stayed at the office for multiple hours trying to get the problem solved. They sent someone back out to clean but didn't do much besides change the bed sheets (two members from our family stayed there until we got back from the office). The owner finally agreed to give us a refund IF they could rent the cabin back out for the days we had originally booked. They DID rent the cabin out to someone else but still to this day have yet to refund the money that we paid to rent the cabin (this was August 2016). The mamangement team and owner did not treat our family professionally or with any respect and were extremely rude. When you go on vacation it is suppose to be a time to be stress free and spend time with family. However, that is not what you will get with this company. Our entire vacation was consumed by this problem that Affordable Cabins of the Smokies refused to make right with us and we had to pay for TWO cabins to stay in.
