My wife and I stopped here after checking into our condo a block away. We were here for our honeymoon. I told my wife that my previous experiences with McAllisters had been good and perhaps we should give this one a go. The building appeared to be well kept and there appeared to be plenty of staff. We unfortunately did not get any food here. I will explain: we waited in line and once it was our turn to order my wife inquired as to which vegetables are in the fire-roasted vegetable soup. The person at the counter replied "I'm not sure.". I explained that we have food sensitivities and allergies so it would be great if he could find out. He inquired with the kitchen by yelling over his shoulder. One of the two people in the kitchen said "I don't know. why?" Then they began naming off random vegetables such as cucumber and tomatoes. Then it became quite amusing to the staff as they began to laugh at each other calling out new vegetables. We decided this is not somewhere we want to do business. As we turned to leave the person in the kitchen stopped laughing to say "What? Now they are gonna leave?". I said yes we are leaving. I did point out to the person on the register that some customers have food allergies and find it important to avoid eating something that makes them sick or have an allergic reaction. This did not have an effect and we had a great dinner across the parking lot at at a different restaurant. Interestingly enough, the other establishment asked about food sensitivities right after introductions. About 200 feet separated a great experience from...
Read moreI work around the Pigeon Forge area and sometimes I eat lunch at a place instead of bringing my lunch. I was craving a chicken salad sandwich and I knew McAlister's made a great one. This McAlister's was on the way to my next job site and was a perfect location. The food tasted great, but for the amount I got, I overpaid big time.
I gave this a 4 star review for two reasons. The amount of time it took to receive my food and the amount of food I received per the cost.
To be fair, I had ordered digitally and it took me maybe 10-15mins to arrive at the location. I still had to wait close to 20mins before my sandwich and Mac & cheese was ready. It was during peak lunch time hours (noon-ish). I get it. However, there was a lady with a number sign waiting on her food BEFORE I had arrived and still hadn't got her food.
Side note: while the two ladies working the register and front of the house were courteous and kind. They both need to be more assertive and confident in the work they do. They came across as newbies and seemed to struggle with the task at hand. (I have worked in various food service places like Quiznos, Cracker Barrel and The Bald Headed Bistro and know how it is.)
The sandwich I got tasted delicious, but it was the size of a normal sandwich I could make at home. Also, the Mac & cheese I ordered wasn't even filled to the top in the to-go cup it came in. Paid $10+ for a normal sized sandwich and 3/4 filled cup of Mac. I was...
Read moreIf I could give a zero I would.... My wife went to eat there on September 17th and the bill for one person was $33 plus. She had rewards that she tried to use but the manager apparently didn't know how to apply them. She was told he would 'figure it out' and she left it with him. Well, that apparently didn't happen..he gave her an 'adjusted receipt' for $26 and told her that it was handled. That wasn't the case as our credit card was still charged $33+. First of all, if you are in the retail customer business, be honest with your customers. Honestly, $33 for one person to eat is way too high, and with the rewards not applied correctly, we were still left with an outrageous bill. We are locals and we don't plan to visit McAlister's again, let alone anytime soon. We used to visit often at this location many times when there was different management. Needless to say, there are better options and we'll take our business elsewhere. Come winter when there are so few customers, maybe our business will be valued more (the 'manager' seemed to be more interested in helping tourist and but her head off when she tried to get him to straighten the mess he created out). Unfortunately for McAlister's, our dollars will be spent...
