Came in during the late evening and they were moderately busy, for a Sonic. My family insisted on parking and going to the eat-in section, for some reason.
They had three order points, and we had people at each one. We ended up standing for 40 mins. I had just left Dollywood and never even stood that long in line for a roller coaster.
Multiple cars that came in after us had orders taken before even our first order was taken. One order point even gave up the ghost during the wait and turned itself off. We asked them when they were going to take our order (politely), and they said they only had one person with a headset. That's unfortunate, but doesn't excuse the fact that they continued to skip over us to keep better drive-thru and carhop time averages.
At one point, I even walked over to a car spot and pushed the button to see if they would take that order first. The carhop saw me over there and purposefully skipped me, making it personal at that point. Again, we were never rude. Our impatience may have been showing, but we were never directly rude. I've worked fast food. I know how it is. And they purposefully ignored us and skipped over us. They must've moved dozens of drive-thru and parked orders.
It was, honestly, one of the worst fast food experiences I've ever had, and I already set my bar low when I come to busy, tourist areas like Pigeon Forge.

Read moreI never give reviews but this was the worst customer experience I’ve maybe ever had (I’m in my 50’s). We waited about 10 minutes at the menu board in the drive through with only one car ahead of us. I had to keep saying “hello” and she would slowly then answer “I’ll be with you in a minute.”
We order and get to the window. After about 3 or 4 minutes, a very sweet girl opens the window to take our money and give us our drinks. She apologized and explained to tell us it’s her first day. We say - no problem! You are doing a great job.
6 or 7 minutes later - no food. We knock on the window and a new lady says please be patient we are Working on your order now. No problem. 7 or 8 minutes later I have to knock on the window again. Same lady opens. She says “we are bagging it now”. Closes the window. 5 minutes later - I have to knock again because we are going to be late for our appointment and say can we just take whatever you have that is ready. She shoves the bags in my face and says - “there are only 3 people working in here”. And slams the window in my face.
My daughter now is having abdominal issues a couple of hours after eating. So something was also wrong with the food.

Read moreWe drove in for three large milkshakes and one of us asked for the strawberries to be added and one of us asked for some chocolate pieces to be added and I tell you no lie The pieces that they put in that milkshake would not feel a teaspoon. The milkshake itself was not a milkshake it was more like milky ice cream that had been melted for a while. The added items we asked for were 60 cents more for the absolutely minuscule pieces that went into the milkshake The only thing I can say was good was the flavor was fairly adequate. I don't even believe they filled it to the top of the cup even though you get a plastic cover over the top with a hole where you can put a spoon but you really didn't need a spoon because you could drink it, I was very disappointed because that was $6.90 a piece if you wanted anything in it other than the milkshake I will not be trying that particular Sonic again because I have had much better at other sonics such a disappointment. Now the young man that assisted us was very patient in explaining what they had available and what was off the menu because they were out of it and helped us as much as he could making a selection because we were new to the Sonic business so kudos for him, too bad the food didn't make up for it being...
