I usually love Cracker Barrel and I definitely enjoy Pigeon Forge. This is my third visit this year to this area.
Unfortunately, I am deeply disappointed with my experience at this particular restaurant and will likely avoid coming back to this particular restaurant in the future.
I arrived 30 minutes prior to closing thinking I would order something to go. However, they were still seating people when I walked in. I stood at the desk waiting to give my name. They seated several people and seated a family directly in front of me. Then the woman at the stand left for about 10 minutes and came back, looked at me, and said "We just stopped seating people." I said... I have been waiting here for quite awhile. She just shrugged. I said "Can I order something to go?" She said "no, the ordering online is still open, but by the time you do it, it will be closed." I pulled it up on my phone and it was open. I said "if it is still open online, can I just order from you?" She said no.
They had just seated several parties. I was amazed that the order to go was open online, but they refused to allow me to order. I wasted 20 minutes at this restaurant only to be turned away and not even allowed to order to go when they had just seated 4 different parties in front of me. They weren't even nice about telling me too bad we won't help you. I am putting this restaurant on a list of places to avoid in the future.
I am sincerely disappointed as I typically love most Cracker Barrels and I really love Pigeon Forge. I would just say beware and don't expect courteous, kind or respectful treatment at this restaurant. So very unfortunate.
On a positive note, After being turned away at Cracker Barrel, I drove down the street to Cheddars and was treated very well and seated promptly and everyone was extremely kind and courteous. I was so grateful and thankful for such a turnabout in the way I...
Read moreWe have eaten at many Cracker Barrels. This one was located in Pigeon Forge close to the Old Goat restaurant. Where do I begin? The service and food was so bad I am still speechless. First the restaurant was not crowded.Less than half full ,No waiting in line . We had to tell our server to bring straws then napkins. He did bring us two cups of coffee ,one was ordered the other was not . I didn't say anything because it was just a small mistake. He never brought any bread which according to the menu was supposed to be included with our meal. The food was cold . I mean really cold like it had just came out of a refrigerator. When ask about the bread he said they had run out and they were making more . We had eaten by this time half our meal ,ask again about the bread . His statement was their cooking it . He ended up bringing our ticket and bread at the same time . No apology. Just flopped it down on the table . As we were leaving the manager happened to be standing there ,I mentioned our experience. His explanation was well we get backed up sometimes. You would have to be blind to see that this was not the problem as the place was maybe half full. I understand why now . I really thought the manager would offer to comp us in some way but instead I got this smirky grin and told basically sorry about your luck . Like I said we have eaten at many Cracker Barrels and always had good food and good service but never again at this one . My opinion after speaking to the manager is that he was the problem. If you don't have any pride in what you do it shows . The old proverbial saying s* rolls down hill was certainly true in this case . There are many good Cracker Barrels there is another one located not to far from this one . I recommend you try that one and leave this one alone . They apparently do not want your business and appeared to be aggravated that you even...
Read moreService was good. My Spouse always wants to come here. I have been here now for the second time. First time I had the chicken and dumplings. The worse chicken and dumplings I have ever had. Bland boiled chicken with no flavor to the rest of the dish and no dumplings. This time I had the chicken tenders. Thinking it is a sit down famous restaurant I would have thought the same as I thought about the chicken and dumplings they would be great. The chicken had no flavor no seasoning and they were not crispy. Thinking again this is a famous sit down restaurant I was excited about a house ranch with the tenders. Very watery and no flavor ranch. One of the worse ranch sauces I have had. I just don't get it. Supposed to be Southern cooking and I know southern cooking is known for their cooking and flavors however Cracker Barrel is not all that it is Cracked up to be. Twice now we have spent more money in the Cracker Barrel store than the restaurant. They have a lot of novelties from my child hood including Chunky Bars which my Dad used to buy me to prove he loved me. These remind me of a simpler life of being a kid. They also have a small military section to show support to our military with the hoodies being the same price as a Normal T-Shirt so we have boughten 3 of them. We have bought several Christmas gifts as again the stores have a lot. I will stop by for the store but not the food. This is probably why they are closing all their restaurants and...
