We entered the restaurant and stood there for an uncomfortable amount of time, trying to figure out if we seat ourselves or wait to be seated. There was a female employee standing in the back of the restaurant talking to someone behind a half wall, but she was in full view of us. At one point she made eye contact with me and I smiled, and she turned her attention right back to the person she had been talking to, who we soon realized was another employee sitting down. As we were deciding whether to walk out, this female employee started walking toward us, so we stayed. She didn't apologize for the wait, which she clearly knew we had been waiting, and didn't greet us at all. She simply said, "Two?" We are extremely patient people, so we figured maybe she's just the host and the rest of the visit would be fine. Unfortunately, she was our server as well, and left other people standing awkwardly at the doorway when they entered as well, even though she was literally just talking and laughing with an employee in plain view of the entire restaurant. Our chips and salsa were served to us like a drive-by, as she literally didn't stop and just put them down and kept walking without stopping. Our food was okay, though the red sauce reminds me of the red sauce from cans of Spaghetti-O's from when I was a kid. It was familiar, though not good, and as soon as I realized why it tasted familiar, I couldn't eat any more of it. The chicken was well seasoned, and was the best part of either of our meals, and the only reason I gave them two stars. The margaritas were not good at all, and those are pretty hard to mess up. We never got water refills, or were asked how our meals were. Our check was brought to us about a minute after our entrees were served, and again it was a drive-by. We were there around 6pm, so it isn't like they were getting ready to close, but we felt like us being there was a HUGE inconvenience to our server. We just moved to this area and have been trying to find a good Mexican restaurant, but this one is definitely not on our list. We actually joked about getting McDonald's after leaving, because we couldn't eat much...
Read moreso basically when i go to a mexican restaurant i go to my local restaurant which has very fast service. i decided to take a day trip to Gatlinburg to enjoy my day with my fiance. well, her favorite food is mexican, so why not go to mexican?? we get here, i missed the turn about 5 times so that was frustrating. we get there and we wait about 5 minutes for chips and salsa. AMAZING. then we don’t even get our drinks until about 15 minutes after that so we’re like 20 minutes in. we finally get our drinks. i ordered a water and my fiance ordered a dr pepper. our server brought two dr peppers out and charged us for both (i’m not complaining). once we ordered (same time we placed our drink orders) and we waited another 30 minutes for our food. and then the service was slow, in the entire time we were there, we only received one refill and we were not checked up on after receiving the food. after eating our food (mine was great, hers was okay she said) we finally got our check about 20 minutes after finishing eating and we got to go boxes. we asked for to go drinks as well and didn’t receive them. we waited for about 15 minutes waiting patiently for our server to come back (which he didn’t). we went to the front to ask instead and they said they would get the drinks. he was sitting on his phone talking to his female coworker most of the time we were there and when we asked for drinks he made her go get them which took her at least 5 minutes to do after she went immediately to the back. they didn’t even seat the people who were waiting in the lobby. my food was a 9.3/10. I got a chicken and steak burrito, it came with fries which was a bit odd but no complaints. My fiancé did not enjoy her food, but she is also picky and gets a bean burrito and rice everywhere we go. (4/10) But the salsa is where it’s at! Best salsa we’ve had in a long time, not too spicy but...
Read moreI don’t normally write reviews but this place was absolutely not managed properly. With a party of 8, we had no problem waiting the 30 min as they did not take reservations. We tried to order drinks at the bar but was told they were short staffed so can only make “easy” drinks so we got beer from the tap and a pre-mixed Margarita (they couldn’t find the 151 to add on top). After being seated for an additional 30 min, we still didn’t get our drink orders in. When the waiter came, we asked to put our entrees in, as well, but was told he would take it after the drinks were delivered. (20 min later for soda and bar drinks came 45 min to 1 hr later (still stuck with the pre mixed margarita). Ordered 8 entrees and only 6 received after FOUR tables who were seated AFTER us received and finished their food. Out of the 6 entrees received, one dinner was wrong, one was completely cold and rest was warm with soggy french fries (kids meals).
The kicker was when we received the bill, they had the audacity to charge us gratuity! At no time did the waiter ask us for anything; we had to chase him and Claudio, the manager, for utensils. We didn’t even get water!
It was an excuse that they were “understaffed” as tables were served before us. There is no excuse for cold food and non existent service. You should NOT be in business if you don’t know how or can’t run a...
