Unkindness With a Side of Banana Cream Disappointment đâïž
Iâve been eyeing this place for a while since it looks like the kind of cozy cafĂ© where kindness is baked into the food items. Unfortunately, the vibes stopped at the cashier, who was lovely (shout out to her, the only highlight).
I ordered the banana cream latte, which sounded like a dream but tasted like sadness and regret. I politely mentioned it to the employee who brought my food and she hit me with the classic âoh, sorry,â and kept it moving. I then tried again with another team member, who at least asked why I didnât like it. I explained that it wasnât sweet, didnât taste like banana, and asked if we could add syrup or something to salvage it. She offered a caramel syrup or to remake the drink. I chose the syrup route.
Plot twist: she poured caramel âsauceâ on top of a cold drink which, spoiler alert, sank straight to the bottom like my expectations. I tried to stir it, but unless this was a science experiment, that caramel wasnât going anywhere. When I mentioned it still tasted awful, her response was: âThereâs nothing else I can do.â
Nothing else? Not even a little effort to make it right for a $7 drink that was headed straight for the trash? I felt less like a customer and more like a casualty. I ended up walking out, leaving the drink on the counter and her going back to her day as if nothing happened.
In short: kind concept, but the execution, and customer care missed the mark. I wonât be back, and if youâre looking for both good coffee and good energy, Iâd suggest...
Read moreUsually if a place is mediocre at best, I try to go back again to see if it was just a one-off. Due to the high volume of guests (line was almost out the door), and the fact that it's not the only coffee shop in Frisco/Plano, my return is TBD. It was also very loud and somewhat chaotic (see high vol. of guests). None of which is the cafe's fault, so here's my review of them. EDIT: their drinks are delicious. I was at first unimpressed, but have since gone back due to addiction. Little pricey but worth it as a sweet treat.
The area was clean, which is a huge plus, and the decor was modern minimalist and a little boring, but I do enjoy all the yellow, so not too disappointed there. Service was good, if ordinary.
I will say, due to it being the "trendy" new coffee spot, there were TONS of small female influencers there, which (not trying to sound like a crank) kind of ruined it for me. I felt like I was in the background of at least 3 videos, and I was in my "I'm not seeing people I know today" clothes. Definitely makes me hesitate to come back, as I prefer a cozier, more calm vibe when I go to coffee shops. However, that might dwindle the longer it's here. Little perk was that some guy is doing a drink collab with La La where 100% of the proceeds are going towards helping Kerr county from the recent flooding if you buy his drink. Loved that. All in all, not super impressed but not extremely...
Read moreVisiting Dallas for the weekend and went to your shop, drawn in by the charming exterior and inviting menu. Unfortunately, my experience inside left me feeling uncomfortable and disappointed.
First, the coffee I was initially interested in (advertised on the board outside) was sold out, which was understandable, though a bit misleading. The drinks we ordered were just okay. However, one cup was leaking, and when I looked for napkins, the dispenser was empty.
I politely asked the staff member behind the counter for a napkin, and instead of handing me one, even though she just grabbed a full package, she told me (with her back turned) to go find some on the other side of the store. When I expressed my frustration, her response was to laugh and make comments to other customers, which was not only unprofessional but quite humiliating.
Then, just minutes after we sat outside, another employee told us to leave the patio because it was after 7:00 and she needed to clean. I understand closing time, but the way it was handled felt cold and rushed.
The shop itself is lovely, but the staffâs attitude and lack of basic courtesy really took away from the experience. Iâm sharing this feedback not out of anger, but because I believe a business like yours, with such great potential, deserves staff who reflect its values and treat guests...
