Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Pooler

Update 3/17/25 got a email how they were sorry and were gonna try to train there staff better lol Up date came in after the circus on 3/8/2025. Same thing as last time we are short handed its gonna be a wait. No biggie waited got to table got order in quick. Then the choas happened. First got 2 of the 3 kids orders out with in 15 mins pretty quick for applebees. Then the apps came out 10 mins which is kinda wierd cause i was hoping to get that first she asked if we had anything else i said his burger and my steak. 20 mins later my steak came out which was crazy cause i ordered medium rare and maybe the place had 10 tables. I looked over because my 3rd kid hadnt got his food and though he was killing the apps he was bummed not to get his food. Noticed a dude in kitched had no hair net on but choose to wear a face mask super helpful i guess. Then 30 mins later the server came by to chdck on us asked if we had everything i noted my kid never got his food she went to go get it i notified her not to worrry about it. She then brought me the receipt i gladly paid for it because we did get the food that was on the receipt. I asked for the manager she came over asked what the issue was i figured the server told her but i guess not. I explained the situation she asked what she could do but honestly there isnt anything. This place just sucks i told her it was crazy how this place is. She said hopefully next time we csn do better we are short staffed. But obviously u cant the same issue has been going on more then a year. Came in Sunday 12/17/2023 night around 745 place was fairly empty. I told the hostess I had 10 people coming she said it would be a 30 min wait because they only had 3 servers. I was like ok np. We waited around 815 we were sat at a table with 8 chairs. I asked our waitress if we could move the kids to a small table behind us to cover for the error np. Everyone got there we ate our food it came out fairly quick the server made sure we had our drinks steadily. But to be honest the food was garbage. One person got the Mac with chicken which was literally some cheese noodles with chicken tenders on top. Another person got chicken. Said it taste like chef Mike got ahold of it. A couple of use got steaks with a tiny bit of shrimp as in 2 salad shrimp. The portions of the cheapest shit mashed potatoes was tiny but thats ok because they were covered in grease. We were told there weren't anymore wings which is crazy but ok but they had boneless wings. The wings were dried out. We spent almost 400 dollars in there but the next day all anyone could talk about was how horrible the food was. That's how u...

Update: 7-31-2023 Dropping a star. It's been awhile since I've eaten here. I was hoping that maybe servers/staff had changed. It took 20 minutes for my steak to get to me. I ordered medium which is pink with a hot center. What I got was chewy and well done. It tasted awful. For $15-17 i would rather go to texas roadhouse. At least they know how to cook a steak. The "seasoned" green beans had maybe a dash of salt. That was it. It's not seasoned if you just put a tiny bit of salt on it. The kids chicken tenders were good. The fries were fries. However they seated us away from any of the tvs so my toddler was bored in the 20 minutes it took for me to get my steak. My son got his food almost immediately. The "seasoned" mashed potatoes do have more seasoning than the green beans. Quick questions to consider: Why were my green beans cold and soggy? Why was the steak so overly done? Why did it take 20 minutes? Why did my server check on my table once? Why did my server not ask to refill my drink? Why did I have to flag my server down to get the bill?

I'm routing for Applebee's. Some of my favorite childhood memories are from Applebee's in my hometown but MAN does this location have issues. For $30 I could go to Texas Roadhouse or a Chinese buffet. Absolutely nothing you provided warranted that price. Please get it together. 🙏

Past review: Its the most off-putting Applebee's I've ever been to. The parking lot wasn't packed on a Friday night. We went inside, no wait time. Which was great, I thought. We were seated. They were out of queso on a Friday night. They were out of red bull. My husband and I did the 2 for $27 couple meal. It took 27 minutes for us to get our appetizer, the mozzarella sticks. And by that time, we had our food in the next 3 minutes. My husband and I both asked for a medium steak. He received a medium well and I received a well done steak. My steak was overdone and kinda tasted like charcoal. I actually started to choke on a piece of it. I had green beans for a side and they were cold, soggy and had clumps of garlic on it. I don't know what happened to this restaurant. Service was aweful! When we got there we were told a 45min wait for a party of 5. Not a big deal. When we were seated a waitress took our drink and appetizer order. She stated that she was not our waitress and was just helping out. Our drinks arrived quickly however after waiting 45 mins with no one coming to our table to take our order I stopped another waitress and asked her who our server was. She told me the name and said she would go get her. When the waitress got to our table she talked immensely about random things that didn't make any sense! I had to interrupt her to ask about our appetizers and taking our order. After rambling for anther minute She finally took our order. She went to check on our appetizers as well however she never returned!! After 25mins I began looking around for her she was bussing another table. I stopped another waitress to flag down our waitress she came back over apologizing then walked away. Then my daughter watched her as she went to the work station she began entering an order. We thought this surely cannot be our order she took 25mins ago being entered. I then asked for the manager just to get some answers. I was very polite but very annoyed at that time we had been seated for an hour. I simply asked the manager about our appetizers and that we asked our server but she never returned with any info I also asked about wait time for the food and if it had been put in. It had not!! The manager returned 10 mins later with appetizers and said our meals had not been entered!! At this point I was very annoyed and frustrated. We waited another hour with no food a total of 2 hours. We ended up leaving after they told us our food was 3rd in the que so they haven't started on it and that it would probably be another 45 mins to an hour!! We got the drinks and appetizers free.
