I am just DISGUSTED with the manager of this establishment!!! First of all let me state that I have been a patron here for over a year. Me and a friend met their 2 times a week after working night shift. We never had any issue. I got my husband and 3 kids enjoying the food so we order every weekend. This weekend was particularly special as it is our youngest daughters birthday. We also have a friend from out of town staying and we RAVED ABOUT THEIR FOOD AND HOW KIND THE STAFF ARE. My husband went to pick up our breakfast and the bartender helped him as we chose to add meat to a dish we ordered. They were very busy as they usually are on weekends yet the staff remained polite. When we unpacked the food at home, we noticed the bourbon street PEACH pancakes had nothing on them but chopped pecans between the pancake layers. We looked in the bag and found peaches in a cup. No bourbon sauce and no cream in between each layer of pancake as it states on the menue. This is a seasonal item but we order the regular bourbon st. pancakes EVERY WEEKEND and all of the toppings come on the side accept they layer banana in between each pancake with the pecans and whipped cream & bourbon butter on the side. So, I called the girl at the bar to tell her everything was missing from the bourbon st peach pancake. That we got a few sorry peaches in a cup. That's it. I wasn't rude however she was relaying this to the manager. Ms. Manager said check the bag. I said please tell her ovecourse I did!!! Ms. Manager said did you find peaches? I replied Yes I established that already. It says each pancake is layered with some peach cream and we have none. Nor do we have the bourbon st. Butter! This women told me to recheck..I told the bartender to put the manager on the phone please. She said Ms manager said we are super busy... ARE YOU KIDDING RIGHT NOW? LADY WE JUST SPENT 120$ on breakfast and went on & on to our guest about how great your established and employees are and this is how you treat a customer? I was embarrassed too, in front of our friend! Not to mention OUR DAUGHTER'S FAVORITE IS BOURBON ST. PANCAKES AND IT'S HER BIRTHDAY WEEKEND! I said WOW your manager is completely disrespectful and rude! The girl from the bar apologized for the rude manager!! I said tell her we will just bring it ALL BACK and please REFUND MY CREDIT CARD! My husband is sitting up their now trying to return our breakfast and I'm just LIVID about how we have been treated!! We have a pending refund on our credit card. My husband was approached by another manager and he did not look at her name tag however, she apologized for the behavior of the manager in the kitchen ( who claimed while I was on phone with employee from bar, that she remembered personally helping with our oder and putting peach cream on the pancakes) 𤯠and asked him if he would like to wait while she remade our order. He said no thank you and asked to please refund his credit card. To the young lady at the bar, I'm sorry I forgot your name but you were respectful and I'm sorry your manager put you in that situation! WHAT A COWARD!!! To Maddie up front, The hostess...she was kind and offered to give the owner my name and number. I am very upset with how we were treated and I will NOT EVER BE EATING AT THIS PLACE AGAIN. If the owner gives a crap about their restaurant then I hope they read reviews because this is not only A HUGE LET DOWN FOR MY DAUGHTER'S BIRTHDAY but, we had a little tradition going on and now it's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI travel A LOT for work, and Iāve eaten at thousands of restaurants but I have never experienced service like this. ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL! Southern Hospitality at its finest. The food was delicious and I also liked the atmosphere!
Hereās my story: Iām about to leave the city after a 4-day work trip. My friend says I need to experience more āGeorgianā food before I leave. I call Another Broken Egg Cafe because it was close to the Savannah airport. A woman named Rachael answered the phone and was extremely kind. I asked about their menu to see if I could get that āGeorgianā taste. She recommended the Deep South biscuit sandwich + city grits. I also asked if they had anything with peaches. She tells me to hold on, and a gentleman joins the call and says his name is Chef Stephaun. He says he was heading out and that he can pick up some peaches and make something that I can try before I leave town. I was flattered, but I told him I didnāt want him to go out of his way. He insisted that it wasnāt a problem at all. I thanked him and told him I was heading over to the restaurant.
At this point, Iām already feeling that this is the best service ever! I arrive and tell the woman at the front desk that I called in earlier. She says my name and gives the warmest welcome! After getting seated, I tried the Deep South first and it was rich in flavor and made me feel that I wouldāve regretted leaving the city without stopping here first.
But then, just when it couldnāt get any better, Chef Stephaun comes out and brings out the most beautiful plate of peach-topped pancakes! It was STUNNING! Even though I was getting full already, it was too good to stop eating.
And Rachel comes over to check on me and asks how Iāve enjoyed the food so far. I tell her I was blown away, and she proceeds to show the most genuine happiness and a smile that says, āSee⦠this is why I work here. To bring joy to others, one meal at a time.ā
I see Chef Stephaun one more time and tell him that this is the best dining experience Iāve ever had. I will never forget how I felt dining there, or how the food tasted, and now itās a must-go whenever Iām back in town.
10/10 -...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe arrived around 9am on a Sunday and were told there would be a 30-45 minute wait. I donāt mind waiting but it would be nice if a reservation system was in order through online or google maps. If there is, I donāt see any indication on here and judging by the large crowds waiting with me, Iām not sure if they even take them. Anywho, we were texted and seated at the first available, which unfortunately was outside. Luckily for us it was only 80 something. They had fans on but it almost felt as if heat were blowing from above me. Either way it goes, a cool drink helped me to be comfortable. They do not serve alcohol until 11am on Sundayās so if you arenāt from this area, be advised. Their cocktail menu looked really good but we just finished right before 11am. I ordered the strawberry pound cake French toast with a side of chicken sausage and scrambled eggs with cheese. The French toast was good but it definitely tasted like cake sliced topped with strawberryās. It wasnāt giving the fried bread feel of French toast. No crispness at all. Just soft, cake. It was also room temp, had it been warm, might have been a better flavor to me. Eggs and sausage were good. My daughter ordered the cookie dough waffle with no complaints, my partner on the other hand ordered the chicken and waffles and said it was the āworst chicken and waffles Iāve ever hadā. He didnāt even eat the waffle so idk how he could draw that conclusion but his words, not mine. The menu seemed to have a lot of options as well as seasonal items, which I can appreciate. I canāt speak to how great our service was. The hostess who sat us was really friendly and engaging and the waitress we had was definitely on point and attentive. Staff is amazing! Iād say work on the wait times or at least allow for online reservations (the hostess us we got there EARLY, had we gotten there later would have had to wait even longer than the 30-45 minutes we were given upon arrival). The food isnāt good enough to be waiting 40 minutes to eat but the pleasant staff makes...
