We came all the way from Edinburg this day with high recommendations from many friends that have visited this place only to get mistreated by a rude waiter five minutes into us being there and having him seat us which by the way was the reason we left. When we arrived the wait to be seated was about 2 mins which to me is not bad at all that was pretty fast. Then our waiter came for us he told us to find the first table and be seated mind you we had never been in this place so we didn't know the restaurant at all nor did the waiter care to guide us to the back to seat us he just said what he said and walked off. We were 4 persons, when we first walked to the back where he pointed us to we see 2 empty tables the first one had 3 seats with a box on it. So we took the 2nd table to the far back that was empty and had six chairs, not thinking anything. we sat down and waited for him to come back. When he arrives to our table with menus in hand, the first thing he says as he is putting down the menu's in Spanish is, "Didn't I tell you the first empty table you saw not this table!" Mind you the tone of voice as if it bothered him. My husband then tells him which one the one with 3 chairs and box on top if you wanted us to be seated there why didn't you bring us back here and seat us instead of trying to scold us like little kids. So we get up and move we bring a chair along with us to complete the 4 and he moves the box somewhere else. Mind you the tension from the waiter he was bothered bothered by us. So he asked what we wanted to drink. I answered first and said I'll have a sweet tea please. That made him even more mad and he said, "Didn't you look at the menu? we don't carry sweet tea. We only have unsweetened tea." The anger in his voice was crazy. After that, my husband gets up and says nevermind we don't want anything. We didn't come here to get mistreated. We will take our business somewhere else." As we walk out I stop to talk to the manger or owner he was friendly apologized tried to get us to sit back down but was really of no help didn't even ask the waiter what happened mind you the waiter in front of us while talking to the manger laughed and had smirk on his face as if he does this often and knows there is no consequences for him mistreating their customers. I just feel bad cause I hate to ever leave bad reviews. While everyones food did look amazing as we saw it coming out for the short time we were there I had only wished our experience would have been better so we could've...

Fathers Day dinner in Port Isabela. This place is a Diamond in the Rough!! Unassuming on a little back street away from the touristy SPI traffic. When you walk in you wouldn't even know there's a restaurant if you didn't KNOW there was a restaurant! It's a lil fresh seafood Mercadito in front w a small display case of fresh catch of the day.... But move Just a little further in and off to the back and MAN!! I was reading another review earlier and they were Spot on - it IS like the Tardis from Dr Who inside!! It just EXPAAAAAANDS Our server was SUPER AWESOME!! He took Great care of us!! He went the extra mile, had great suggestions and even took me up front to pick out my Snapper for Whole Deep Fried Yumminess!!! Joe’s cook to serve and make it their business to make sure you get it how you want it! You can Tell this place takes Pride in what they do! There is a real Family feel to the place!! This is definitely a local Favorite dining spot! We met a Great family while there - Shout out to Mr Gabriel n Ms Jennifer n your family! 🤗🤗 The Menu packs a lot for the money too! You can get everything from fish (snapper or Flounder or if they catch something else!) to shrimp to - oh YEA OYSTERS!!! And you can get em fried or Grilled and MAN are they done RIGHT!! SUPERBLY seasoned guys!!! I got my whole BEAUTIFUL snapper - Fresh caught and plucked from Crystal clean ice - Hard Fried as Requested WITHOUT breading and Perfectly seasoned. OMG!!!! I was in HEAVEN guys!!! And the portions!! As you sit there and just watch all of the MASSIVE plates coming out of the kitchen you're like WOW!!! These guys know how to fry!!! MOLTO BELLO!!! GOLDEN AND PERFECT!!! Oh!! And wait til you see their giant plank fries!!! Hot and salty and YUM!!! We also had their ceviche. Which we absolutely LOVE. It's the perfect blend of fresh fish cooked in zesty citrus and pico. The perfect appetizer to whet our appetites!! These guys are Definitely worth a check in! This was recommended to us by several locals. We had not come because it was always very busy. It is a small fish market and a restaurant - funky and clean. We came when they opened and there were about 5 tables of folks ready to be seated right on opening. Small menu of fish and shellfish - all local caught. Or you can bring your catch and they will cook for you. Also you can buy fish and shrimp- fresh and frozen. There is more seating in the back - and a fair size parking lot. It is located right near the post office and city hall - one block off Main Street. I got the fried shrimp platter which came with 8 large shrimp. It is the “house special”. The plate came with fries, a really good coleslaw, soft white roll and small cups of tarter, cocktail sauce, spread for roll and lime. Table has hot sauce and ketchup (that has been refrigerated). The cole slaw is creamy and crunchy. It is not the vinegar base coleslaw and I liked this version. This is an older shop but the air conditioner was working well. There is a small bar area where it appears there are bud and miller products. My husband got the fish platter with 3 large piece of fish that was fresh and thin long cuts. Both the shrimp and fish were cooked in a light crispy batter. I liked this better than Dirty Al’s a favorite on the island. There are high chairs and they accept credit cards. We got a friendly greeting when we entered and told to sit where ever we want. Plenty of staff on and our meals came pretty quickly. Service was efficient and did check back on the meal. The only thing I felt was a bit off is we both got these tiny cups of tarter and cocktail sauce even though my husband’s dish had a lot more fish. They probably would have brought more but we did not ask. Will...

Freshest and best seafood I've had in any restaurant I've been to while visiting the Rio Grande Valley. No wonder my brother in law loves this place so much! We drove all the way from Brownsville, because he wanted me to try the Seafood Stew. All I can say is it was delicious!! It's was loaded with seafood; fresh chunks of fish, lots of shrimp, some crabmeat, mussels and conch, too! My sister got the Joe's Seafood Platter consisting of a couple filets of fresh fried fish, some fried shrimp, fried oysters and crabmeat stuffing on a half crab shell. I tasted some of the fish and it was fresh. Being from the southeast coast of Florida, I'm very skeptical when a restaurant boasts about "fresh caught" fish, but Joe's came in clutch! The place isn't big but it was packed, which is always a good sign that the food they serve is on point. They have a refrigerated section where you can choose whatever fresh seafood you'd like to purchase to take home and cook yourself. Plus, they will also cook your fresh catch in the restaurant if that's what you prefer! The waiters were great for being so busy, the Modelo 🍺🤠 was cold and the food was excellent! Can't ask for anything more! I'd recommend this nice little restaurant to anyone wanting some delicious fresh seafood while visiting the Rio Grande Valley.

We wanted to try this place out since the reviews were so great. I don’t know why we did not get the experience what we read all the reviews raved about. Maybe it was an off day for them but they dropped the ball this day. Two of us ordered the grilled fish, shrimp, and oysters plate which I felt was not made fresh to order as if it was reheated. My bf ordered the fried oysters, shrimp, and calamari plate. He complained his oyster smell extra fishy so he gave me one and I took a bite but I couldnt finish the other half. It was extremely fishy perhaps it had gone bad. The last plate was a fried fish, shrimp, and oyster plate. Her fried fish turned out looking good and flaky but her oyster was also awful. The sides included Cole slaw which turned out very good and fries but I did sub my fries for onion rings for an extra charge which I happily agreed. The food was served on paper plates and plastic utensils. The server did not come around to refill our little plastic cups which we needed refills constantly but he seemed to be so busy with all the tables to serve. It appeared he was the only one in the dining room. Sadly I don’t think we will come back.
