Incredibly rude service. And our order is a absolute mess! We ordered though DoorDash, and our DoorDash driver had to call us to let us know that our order couldn’t be made and they we needed to cancel it ourselves, and that was the second time it happened to him that night. We’ve ordered though DoorDash before and when restaurants haven’t been able to complete orders, they’ve called DoorDash themselves and DoorDash reached out to us and the restaurant canceled it. We’re currently trying to get our money back and cancel the order, even though your employees told our driver they wouldn’t make our order.
When I called to ask why our order couldn’t be made, the guy that answered the phone literally told me when I started talking “that was really loud” and I was like “…sorry?” And he came off very annoyed by my voice.. he also had no idea what I was talking about when I just wanted to know why the order couldn’t be completed. He put me on hold and came back and said “we can’t make the lasagna because we don’t have it” when I started talking again he acted like I was loud again and so beyond rude, like me speaking into the phone was upsetting him.
The food my boyfriend ordered showed up, with a note that said “sorry no lasagna” after we were literally told by our driver to cancel the order. but we have no refund for the lasagna, and a drink we didn’t even order. The DoorDash support had to call and confirm part of our order wasn’t made. It is not the DoorDash drivers responsibility to call and let us know the order isn’t complete. It’s the restaurant’s responsibility to contact DoorDash and let them know, so they can let us know. That’s how’s it’s happened to us before. I will never order from this location again. Mostly because of how the employee spoke to me. I ended up hanging up because I couldn’t even tell if he was still talking to me or someone else, because he trailed off with a what he was saying and didn’t really care in the...
Read moreSad but I used to love it here. They used to have the best sandwiches. Portland has seen alot of these types of stores disappear over the past 30 years. Growing up every neighborhood had at least 1 if not 3. Now I camt even find one that has fresh bread fresh veggies and decent cold cuts. I bought 4 large Italians Sunday and we got home to find that one had the tomato top on the sandwich. Who the hell eats the tip piece of the tomato and the bottom was on the other one. The other two were odered no onion extra pickle and labeled as such. Both loaded with onions and no extra pickles. . The bread wasn't the freshest either. This is first time that I've had a problem with bread at this location. I've noticed that chain stores like to freeze their bread and you can always tell. I've noticed a big difference in quality since they franchised the name. It's too bad because they are the inventors of the Italian sandwich. I'll have to try the other store that recently reopened since remodeling after a fire. Hope to see better quality next time I take a chance at this location. This as far as I know the original family running it since I can remember. They used to...
Read moreI have been there only at least three times for the past year, and I must tell you it was terrific. Those Italian Sandwiches are fantastic. No offense to you, but I usually go to Fresh Approach on a monthly basis for a couple of Italian sandwiches. I am thinking of going there sometime tonight to treat a couple of my friends for some Italians---or whatever they would like. In the past, the traditional ham Italians are the most affordable to me. I wouldn't mind trying a little something different. I'm game for just about anything, but those Italians are really good---and most importantly, I happen to live close to Amato's on St. John St. I have had some Italians from Fresh Approach, from various supermarkets (like Shaw's and Hannaford), from DiPietro's, and occasionally from my nearest Amato's. I cannot decide which place has the best Italians, but next to Fresh Approach, Amato's is totally awesome. If there's a chance (never say never), I would look forward to go there tonight and buy some dinner for myself...
