My husband and I planned a weekend getaway to Portland, Maine. We have been married for over 20 years but our original wedding bands no longer fit us. I had seen the reviews for Market Square Jewelers and thought it would be nice to get new bands. We were greeted warmly by Mielena as we walked in. She asked us a few questions and was able to show us a nice selection of bands. My husband and I picked out a set of bands that we fell in love with. After we selected our rings, Mielena shared some of her favorite pieces with us. You can see that she really enjoys sharing the inventory and sharing her knowledge of the pieces. As we were browsing I did see a ring that caught my eye. She let me try it on but to my dismay it did not fit. Mielena saw my disappointment but she stated that the ring can be sized and sent to me once it was ready. My husband I walk out the shop happy with our experience. After wearing the ring for a full day, my husband felt the ring was a bit tight on his finger. We went back the next day and Mielena came to the rescue once again. She simply took the ring, measured my husband and said she will send out for resizing as well.

The experience here was just wonderful. We were able to view various pieces without feeling pressured. If you are looking for a unique piece Market Square is a must see spot. There selection is wide and you will find what your looking for weather it's a nice gift or that special engagement ring. My dream has always been to get an antique ring - especially a Victorian era ring. I live in Iowa, so the only jewelry options I have are from Kay, Jared’s, etc. — AKA not what I have been looking for. Since I had to come to Portland for work, I researched ahead of time to see if there were any antique/vintage jewelers in the area. Market Square immediately caught my eye, so I added it to my list of places to visit. Walking up to the shop, I was greeted with the most gorgeous selection of rings, pendants, etc., in the windows. Then, I walked into the shop and was mesmerized by hundreds of little treasures tucked neatly into glass cases. I knew I had finally found what I had been searching for. From there, one of the employees, Milena, took special care to understand what I was looking for and passing along her expertise until we found the perfect ring for me. Since I was only going to be in town for two weeks, I was worried about the ring sizing timeline, but Milena assured me that it would be done before I left. Incredibly enough, it was done in about a week! Also, I might have gone to the shop a couple more times to pick up some other things…..I couldn’t resist! I’m just now starting to invest in my jewelry collection, so Milena was able to help me set up my starting pieces that will last for generations. They are the most beautiful gold chains and pendants that work amazing together or just on their own. Our whole experience truly seemed too good to be true. My girlfriend and I were visiting Portland to see family, and had been looking for vintage engagement rings for some time; however, the right one was beginning to feel quite elusive. We happened to walk by Market Square Jewelers and stopped in. Milena met us and quickly became very engaged in our story and journey together. She was able to source through inventory at not just their location, but several others, and located a ring that so closely matched our ideal description, it could only be perceived as a fairly tale. Unfortunately, it took time for her to get the ring into the shop and we had to leave town, but she kept us so well updated, I felt as though I was traveling alongside the ring itself. We had several phone discussions, and FaceTime video sharing to discuss and view the ring. Milena pointed out some flaws that we never would have noticed, and took it upon herself to have the ring repaired to mint like condition free of charge. We purchased the ring, and needless to say have been very pleased and very excited! I’ve found myself so deeply in love and this ring expresses it in ways my words never could! We still keep in touch with Milena as much as able. She requested wedding photos…but should expect to receive an invitation! Only family can be expected to invest so much time and effort in assistance for these type occasions, and we truly feel of Milena as such. Just incredible.
