I recently dined at Tandoor with friends and we all had an exceptional experience. The highlight of my meal was the butter chicken, which was incredibly moist and bursting with flavor. The richness of the sauce and the tenderness of the chicken made it one of the best I've ever had. The staff was attentive and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our meal. One of the standout features of this restaurant is the ability to customize the heat level of your dishes on a scale of 1 to 10, which allows for a personalized dining experience tailored to your preference. Their vegetarian options were also impressive, with a wide variety to choose from. Each dish we tried was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, ensuring that vegetarians are well catered to. Overall, Tandoor is a highly recommended place with great energy and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're a fan of spicy food or prefer a milder taste, this restaurant has something for everyone. I'll definitely be returning! Side note: their prices are great for the portion sizes provided.

DESI PEOPLE STAY AWAY! Dine in experience - Ordered samosas, garlic naan, paneer butter masala(not on the menu- customized for us), Malli kofta. Samosas we’re the whitest I’ve ever had or seen but taste was ok. Garlic naan was amazing. Paneer butter masala was paneer in tomato curry which was too tangy for us and not spicy at all even after we mentioned the spice level to be 4, 5 being the spiciest. We ordered malai kofta and asked to be made even more spicier and this comes out as a shock. Aloo kofta in tomato gravy again, thank asked the server to add more cream(there was no cream at all - Malai means Cream btw). He came back with curry slightly better looking but with chilli powder lumps. Coming to the service - 2 star for the food but not service. You call the server and he literally says something in some other language( I assume, his native language) on your face out of irritation. Even when asked for a to go box to pack the rice. Also, He was nice with white customers. Overall paid $52 for not so great food and bad service.

Poorly run business with mediocre food and atmosphere. Took my girlfriend here for dinner as it was her "favorite" Indian place in Portland. Food was middling but not spectacular and the ambiance was jarring due to pounding upstairs (at 7pm on a Friday?). Without what transpired next I would have given Tandoor 3 stars.

My check was mistakenly swapped with the table next to mine and I was under charged. No biggie. I pointed it out and it was remedied but I asked for extra receipts just in case, tipped 20% and left.

After checking my bank statement 5 days later I noticed there was two charges from Tandoor where there should have been only one. The incorrect charge and credit were there, so that was all set. Problem was the initial charge for my bill was still there as well as the charge for bill + tip.

I contacted the restaurant and spoke with our server who also happened to be the manager. He said he was sorry, and would look into it and call me back either way. No call back. Charges still there a few days later. Multiple attempted calls, voice messages, and even a trip a down to Tandoor with bank statements and receipts in hand led to no resolution.

My bank is reversing the charges for me. I'll have to make a special trip down to the bank to get the fraud forms notarized further inconveniencing me for a mediocre meal. What a pain.

Even if this had been the best Indian food I'd ever had this type of terrible business practice would warrant never giving them another dollar of my money. Plenty of other choices in town....

Listen up people - my experience at Tandoor was so amazing that it prompted me to write my first Google review ever. Let me set the scene: My buddy and I were walking down the street at midnight, Saturday night, in the cold rain after a few beverages were consumed and haven’t eaten in hours. Desperately searching for any sort of meal to fulfill our desires, we were losing hope as all restaurants closed a few hours prior. We asked a friendly looking stranger if she knew of any places to eat in the wee hours of the night. And without a bit of hesitation, she invited us to come along. She turned around, reopened the front door of her restaurant, and welcomed us in even though she closed two hours ago, “You hungry? I cook for you. Chicken masala? Chicken curry? Chicken korma? You like spicy? I make it spicy for you”. After whipping up our to-go meals, we proceeded to dance with joy around the beautiful atmosphere of Tandoor. What followed was the most beautiful and sophisticated array of flavors to ever meet my taste buds. Rice, chicken, and naan was all on point - BUSSIN....
