I don’t usually leave negative reviews and I’m typically a generous tipper. However if this place wasn't in a lovely hotel I don’t think it would make it. They don’t take cash which is ironic to me since that’s why we all work is for the money. Anyway cards are fine if you brought one. The staff was clearly not happy to be there no smile, no greeting and hardly said a word. The coffee was just ok and the food eh, but edible. When she brought one order to the table I said thank you and all I got was a glare and a frowning face. They forgot the second order so we had to go ask for it and they acted like we were bothering them. The electronic tip percentage on the pay machine stated at 20 percent and went up from there, I find that inappropriate especially when there is little to no service. Good luck and put on a smile it goes along way and will make you more cash oh ya they don’t take cash. Order at the counter, maybe get your food brought to you, then bus your own table, this is worth a minimum 20% with no greeting, smile or personality ? I don’t think...
Read moreI think the boomers complaining about customer service are also the type of people who think they can abuse service workers and have the worker still smile and treat them kindly. The coffee quality is better than expected. Price is great for central Portland & being attached to a hotel - I paid less than $10 for a flavored 12oz latte and a muffin (not including tip).
The ONLY complaint I have is accessibility. The accessible ramp is closed off from the outside, so customers needing the ramp are forced to walk up a lot of stairs, enter through the parking lot, or enter through the hotel (which is further away). However the inside is spaced well enough that someone in a wheelchair should be able to move around easier than some other places I've been in. Wish I could give half stars cause it would be a...
Read moreThis is honestly a really nice coffee shop. I really like the vibe, and the feel. I love that the decorated for comic-con!! But I feel like 3 bucks for an extra shot is wild. I can’t drink normal milk, so I guess I’m forever stuck with a surcharge for it. So my reasonably priced chai goes from 5.50 to 8 bucks?? Like what?? Ugh I really like it, but just way to expensive for a simple milk change and an extra shot. :/
Why is there a charge for milk changes when most of Portland doesn’t even drink...
