Best boba tea I've ever had, and I've had quite a lot from different tea shops. In particular, the Taro Milk Tea with boba. I get this every time, and it's so much better than other tea places' taro milk tea. For some reason, other places can have taro that's like, chalky, or thick, it can be weird. But at Ding Tea Poway it's always smooth and tastes great.
They also let you customize your levels of ice and sweetness, by quarters of amount, meaning you can get any order with like, 75% the normal amount of ice and 25% the normal amount of sugar, for example. You can even get extra, and I used to get 125% sugar, which was very sweet and tasted great, but I eventually went back to just getting the standard 100% ice and 100% sugar.
I've also had the Thai Iced Tea with boba, which is really good, as well as their ice cream sandwiches, also very good.
I gave a 4/5 on atmosphere, because it's not like a big dining hall with lots of attention grabbing things on the walls to provide an "atmosphere," but that's not something I'm even looking for in a boba place. I don't know why "Atmosphere" is one of the three things Google asks reviewers to rate, to be honest, it's not all that important, but if I put myself in the mindset of someone who does care about atmosphere, I guess I can see how they might want more, as the store has a very simplistic style, very minimalist, just a straightforward menu with everything very clean and white. I like it, but again, if you're looking for an interesting or exciting "atmosphere" I guess you might want something with a little more excitement. Hopefully most everyone else agrees with me and likes it how it is, though. I don't have any recommendations for the place to be any better, I hope they stay open for as long...
Read moreThey are popping up in every city! Good for them! For the most part, they are all consistent but this time I did not get the same wow factor on my milk tea.
I usually get regular milk tea, winter melon milk tea or Hokkaido milk tea. Got Hokkaido this time and was disappointed. I did less ice, 50% sugar, no boba. You would think with less ice, that it would taste less diluted except it tasted like I had 100% ice and it melted on a hot day and I’m left with watered down tea. The 50% usually gives me the exactly sweetness because 25% sugar is too bland for me. Well, it was equivalent to 25% sweet because it was diluted and very bland.
Hokkaido milk tea is a Japanese black tea with milk giving a hint of caramel taste.
Not sure if they have these settings pre-measured or eye ball because it wasn't consistent to other places. Probably need to go more sweet at this location.
The prices are fair with $4.95 and additional $0.95 for a large. Ding Tea is a competitor of The Boba Co. now and they are pretty close...
Read moreI’ve been going here for a while, but I think it’s about time to finally make reviews for the places I’ve grubbed at like this one.
Food: The drinks here are pretty good compared to a lot of places. My go-to here is a taro milk tea with boba, 75% sweet, 25% ice.
Customer service: The overall customer service with the staff is amazing! I wanted to take the time to shoutout one of the workers, Jero. I usually run into him on Tuesday nights and of all the times he has served me, he has been very kind, consistent, and exceeds my expectations. I am quite impressed by the way he handles rushes alone too. I would personally fold LOL
Atmosphere: The store could honestly work on their interior or have a uniform “aesthetic” look. interior design seems like it’s all over the place. It feels more like a to-go place rather than a study/work/hang out place you’d enjoy being in. If it wasn’t fr that, this place would be a great...
