Updated review: This hotel has gone downhill since my original review below 3 years ago. The main issue can be summed up in one word: noise. As this hotel has gotten more popular and the activity in the area around the hotel has increased, noise has become a big issue.
The doors all slam shut loudly, the toilets flush like a jet engine, and street noise is nearly constant. And I’ve been back to this hotel multiple times, this isn’t an isolated issue.
Now, throughout the night, if any people in rooms anywhere in the same hall as you open or close their doors, you hear it. Somebody flushing their toilet 2 floors above you at 11pm? You hear it. Buses and motorcycles going by, sirens, honking, you name it.
They’ve even tacitly admitted to their noise problem by providing little white noise machines in every room, which is a band-aid solution at best. One night I barely got a few hours of sleep because of the noise and I had to wake up early for a flight. If you’re a light sleeper, look elsewhere. I don’t think I’ll be returning to this hotel.

Aloft hotels are among my favorites anywhere I travel and this one is no exception. Very modern, clean, and new.
The location is great, walking distance to lots of restaurants and things to do but on a quieter corner of downtown next to a beautiful new park and pedestrian bridge. The amenities are nice too, with a great downstairs bar, pool table, and decently equipped gym (free towels, water dispenser, and even a knob to adjust the music volume in the gym!).
One of my favorite things about this hotel compared to others in downtown Providence is the parking situation. They have valet if you want it, but there’s also a public parking garage (not affiliated with the hotel) right across the street if you want to self park for $20 a night. I hate when valet is the only option, as it is for almost all other hotels in this area. I much prefer self parking so it was a deciding factor for me in choosing this hotel. Overall great hotel and will definitely be back for business trips...
Read moreWell hello Pride Month!
Me and my best friend were excited to come to Ri for Pride this year. we booked early and had an amazing time in the city. but the expectation of this hotel fell flat.
Let's Just say when I checked in and saw how rude the front desk should have been the sign to turn around and find another hotel to stay at for the weekend.
When they charged my card for the stay, they said what the amount was and went to charge it. anything over an amount on my card I need to approve it. when she told me the charge it was different from what she was charging by a few hundred. when I asked her multiple times what the amount was, she could not answer me and kept saying it was lesser than what she was putting to my card so it would get declined. finally, I was able to approve the right about after several attempts. the room was not on the floor as I requested and or the view we requested.
valeted my car and he asked me do you want to change this to your room I said no and gave him cash. when in the room they is no wall for the bathroom rather than a Curtin. witch 2 people sharing a room kind of stunk. the bar downstairs was amazing and same with the roof top but just make sure you have a reservation for the roof top.
The biggest problem was the bill at the end of my stay... they charged me for valet, a late checkout when I left by 9 am, and a bar tab that was charged for the room and they took out the money before checking out. total was an extra 200 in charges I have not gotten back.
When I called the hotel the manager of the front desk said that I was a liar about valet and paying them cash, told me the bar charges where never paid even though I have a separate charge on my card for it. and late check out was requested the night before but we checked out by 9 am via the app.
Overall seems like the front desk manager has no clue what he is doing and is rude as hell. I will never return to this hotel again. location and roof top and bar downstairs are the only thing it has...
Read moreSo when I placed my reservation online and also checked In online . When I got the I hotel I asked to extend my day by one to be told sure but the sweet that books and already laid over 400 for was not available for the actual day I booked it. They then offered me a regular room and the. Switch me to sweet the next day. I declined saying I wanted the sweet for tonight since it’s my friends birthday plus im not going to unpack then pack back up to go to another floor when my main focus was to relax while being there . So they gave me a discount for the two nights and a free drink at the bar. I was a little irritated but it was my experience with the person working at night at the front desk that made me decided I was ok with not staying there again. I had a friend come and stop by whom I hadn’t seen and they left at 12 at them they left something in my room so I was running it down to them at the same time another friend called need a ride home cause they drank to much. So I go down with my valet ticket to the empty lobby and see a guy who I thought was the attendant sitting at a table not doing anything he in turn gets the front desk person I hand them my ticket. I see my friend who forgot his item so I run it out to him in his car and on my walk back to the door (like 6 steps) the front desk guy he looks at me and with the attitude goes “well do you need your car or not” and I “ said yes I do” so he then hands me my key and says “well you Need to go get it yourself because we don’t have valet at night and I’m busy”. They lobby was empty and had bin the whole time this was going on plus the lot was behind the building he could have done it. So I basically paid for a valet service in which I had to go get my own car if that’s the case just don’t offer the service. So I short I paid for a room checked in and the. Was told it wasn’t available, paid for a valet just to go get my own car, and the guy who worked at night was rude as hell…decent views of...
