Part of the Providence experience is that it is one of the largest culinary teaching hubs. If you are finding this review, then you have found exactly the right place to have dinner tonight! CHOP is more than an outreach for enterprising chefs, for over 40 years, the Genesis Center, a 501c3 nonprofit, has helped tens of thousands of people improve English, get employment and achieve economic independence with their job training programs. CHOP is where culinary students, assisted by professional chefs, work together to create meals that are unique and original, full of flavor and cultural blends. When you walk into the building, everything has been recently renovated and set up to accommodate small or large groups of people. The seating is comfortable, and the staff are warm and friendly. You can ask them about what their favorite dishes are because they helped create them. If you like a little adult beverage with your meal, they have a special list of cocktails that pair beautifully with the specials that they have. Like a typical Providence restaurant, you will need to park on the street, but we found this area to have lots of parking options within a short walk. There are accessible parking spaces close by the restaurant.

If you can imagine a better world created by delicious food, then please support CHOP. Neither you, nor your taste buds, will be...

I love it when I find a new restaurant that I truly enjoy. The space is inviting and not crammed. It was on the quieter side which I prefer. It plays on it's space carved out of a corner of the Providence library decorated with books. It has it's own entrance. I especially like that the dinner bill gets delivered inside of a book. I don't want to spend a fortune or gorge myself every time I dine out and the menu lends itself to that. Every dish we had was nicely prepared and tasted great. Enjoyed my first bread pudding made with croissants! We sat at the bar. Watching the drinks being made was very entertaining. I haven't seen so much care put into drink preparation in a long time. With mixed drinks going for the typical $14 I felt everyone was at least getting their monies worth in labor! I am looking forward to going back and bringing friends. There are many large tables. Looks like reservations are best for busy nights but don't pass up the...

A very cool spot for a fantastic bite to eat.

The vibes are cool, calm, relaxing yet has tasteful élégance. The chairs welcome you to take a load off, stay and chat while sharing food with friends, significant others, or even enjoying a drink and book by yourself.

The service was top tier. Everyone was very friendly, informative, and provided a level of attention that you don't seem to find at a lot of places anymore. They really care.

On the note of care, they put a lot of detail and passion into their food. We got the date night special, which (for us), was a green goddess salad, bottle of white wine, chicken piccatta, steak, and a brownie sundae. The food had a level of flavor and depth that I wasn't expecting. The piccatta was one of the best Ive had. The brownie sundae with the house vanilla was incredible. For $60, you can't beat it.

I'd recommend any this to anyone who wants a clean, wholesome meal with good vibes and...

✨CHOP stands for… culinary hub of Providence and that’s exactly what it is located at the Providence Public Library. In CHOPS words this is where tradition meets innovation and I cannot agree more. They are training those who love to cook to become working chefs while also being open to their cultural backgrounds that influence their love to cook. I was impressed with the variety they provided and the execution of each dish. This is a wonderful way to provide jobs to our communities members and giving us some delicious bites! #rhodeisland #rhodeislandfood #rhodeislandeats #downtownprovidence #goodeats
