Disappointing experience. Can tell it was previously a Starbucks, the experience was no different. Wait was RIDICULOUS even for morning rush! Stood on line about 6-8 mins before I even ordered. Waited about the same amount of time after ordering for my cappuccino. It tasted pretty good but even then, too much milk. $5 small mug of steamed coffee milk. Adding to the annoyance of the whole 20 minute "grabbing a cup of coffee" ordeal were other customers doinking around talking, on cell phones at the condiment station or wandering around aimlessly while waiting- getting in the way of others. I should've just gone to my usual spot a couple blocks away, Small Point Cafe. Walked there afterwards to get a second cappuccino and what a difference. Walked in, ordered and sat down with my cappucino in less than 2 minutes. The staff were friendly at Poindexter's so it's no knock on them or even the quality of my bevvy but the time of service was unacceptably lengthy. I'll stick to Small Point for the rest of our stay in Providence.
From the NYC region where we do things much faster and I just can't deal with that level of slow or annoying- especially first thing in the morning when I need my first cup of the day. If you're in a hurry consider going elsewhere. Sorry...
Read moreI work Next Door and I go there quite often. Normally pay about 5.40 for a large Decaf Latte. Today 3-06-2023 The young girl at the counter rang me up and I handed her a Twenty. She gave me 14.50 Back and I looked at my change to give her a Tip and realized she shorted me .10 Cents. So I questioned her and looked at the register and it said I should be getting 14.60 for change. I said you owe me .10 Cents. She replied I Don't have any Dimes. I said but you still owe me money and she said we don't have any dimes and looked away. This is so unacceptable in so many ways. Why do I have to eat the change? What about two Nickles, or how about telling me I'm sorry I don't have any dimes and charge me .10 cents less. I work at City Hall my name is Amy, dare you to come find me and make it right. Never buying coffee there again, Topper had to microwave my coffee because it was...
Read moreMy sister was getting married in Providence on 12/2. We were staying at the Graduate and the wedding party was getting ready there. I reached out to the café owner, Shana late to request catering. She kindly stated she was able to offer what she had on the café menu. I ordered coffee, decaf coffee, breakfast sandwiches and parfaits. Everything was fantastic. The breakfast sandwich was one of the best I've had. They delivered on time and made sure we had everything we needed.
I had asked the hotel for an ice bucket, but they didn't have one except for the small square cup for ice in the rooms. I asked the café if they had one and the gentleman working was kind enough to go check the restaurant to see if they had one and delivered! All in all food was delicious and I was most impressed by the customer...
