I am soooo frustrated. Why? Because my wife and I Enjoyed a couple of delicious Mojito’s and some of the best fried calamari at this restaurant. We had settled in. Encouraged by our wonderful server to relax and assured that we were not being hurried. After the calamari we took a moment to fight drinks, we were ready to order more. So here's the thing, between orders we each had a laptop out. Just doing a quick bit of online stuff. Out of the blue, one of the hosts approaches us and declares he is moving us to the bar because laptops are not allowed. Which, fine... If that's a rule I can live with it, but it is definitely not posted anywhere. The issue I have? It's one of tact, manners, and proper customer service. Why not offer us the choice of putting the laptops away and keeping the table? We did not need reservations to get in, it was clear there are other tables available, and the waitress had said there was not hurry. Why come at us with presumption and a hostile attitude? Anyway, once the spell is broken, it’s broken. We declined to order more food, left a generous tip for our nice server, and took off. ----- Update... Read the 1-star reviews, it seems what happened is not an isolated incident, and it seems that the restaurant might even be deliberately curating its "crowd" for image purposes, and that whoever oversees the dining area (referred to as "the male host" in other one-star reviews) that gave us trouble has done the same to others. I'd have to guess he does it with the approval of the owners, and if not, then the owners need to know what's happening and apply corrective action. Given that what happened is not an isolated incident, I felt compelled to drop my review to 1 stars. The calamari really was very good, so it's a true shame this restaurant had to ruin it. But frankly, the way we were treated is totally unacceptable.

I came to the Patio for the first time this weekend when visiting P Town for the day. It is right on Commercial Street where all the shops and restaurants are. What a cute spot! We made a reservation, and we sat down once we arrived at the restaurant. The service was great! Very attentive servers were there to answer questions and make sure we had everything we needed. I went with a pineapple mojito and a fish sandwich. My meal was excellent. The drink came with crushed ice which was a nice touch. The drink was refreshing on a very humid day. I added American cheese to my sandwich and substituted my coleslaw for French fries. The fish sandwich was crispy on the outside with tender fish on the inside. The brioche roll was buttery and soft. The house made tartar sauce was absolutely delicious! I have never had a tartar sauce like this before. It was elevated, but still had similar notes to your traditional tartar. The French fries were super crispy and addicting. I would go back here in a heartbeat!

After a day of walking around P-Town, we decided that we were ready for dinner. We weren’t sure how long we were going to be in town for, so we had not made a reservation. However, we saw The Patio had a good amount of open tables and a nice outdoor seating area, so we asked the hostess if she had a table. She asked if we had a reservation, to which we said no, and she snickered at us while looking at her available tables. That went right through me and I almost walked away, but then she said she had a table…so I’m not sure why she snickered if she did have availability after all. Anyways, we sat down and had a decent meal. The lobster roll, pesto, and Caesar salad were good, but we thought the portion was a little skimpy for the fish tacos. My mom ordered the shrimp and said they tasted old. The attitude from the hostess at the beginning mixed with some average dishes unfortunately brought down our experience here.

After our third time here, I have to say that Patio has some of the best service and ceviche in Ptown. Alejandro was so incredibly inviting and friendly. Despite that we had no allergies at our table, I really appreciated that he asked at the beginning, such a thoughtful touch. And while the food is PHENOMENAL, it’s the service that really makes the experience. We so enjoyed chatting with Alejandro and getting some great recommendations from him. The ceviche is to die for, the lobster deviled eggs are some of the best I’ve ever had (even if they didn’t have the lobster), and the house meatballs got the approval from both my husband’s and my Italian hearts. Not picture are the two Pistachio Martinis that went down so easy 🍸 If you’re looking for a great spot to get lunch, definitely check out Patio and be sure to make a reservation. They fill up quick!

I've been coming to the patio for years as we visit ptown each August. Their food is wonderful and service is very good considering it's a seasonal rotation of Eastern European wait staff each summer, they are friendly and courteous. We've never had a bad meal here. My wife's favorite is the scallops over the green risotto (asparagus and peas I believe). Last time I got the special: grilled salmon over mushroom risotto, and it was expertly cooked with the salmon slightly pink in the middle. The only reason I can't give them 5 stars is because they (like some others on the cape) don't accept American Express card and as a foodie with a gold card earning 4x points on restaurants usually I would prefer to use it when paying tourist prices. There are many wonderful restaurants in ptown, you should definitely make a stop here.

Updated review 09/04/2021: We've come back this year and again Patio was great! The service is very good and so is the food. We had the tuna tartar again and it was just as nice as I remembered it. The penne alla vodka with shrimp and chorizo was delicious! Best place in P-Town for a nice dinner in a lively atmosphere. Totally recommended! 08/15/2020: Everything was perfect! The food (particularly the tuna tartar and the lobster risotto), the cocktails (try the cucumber Martini, you won't regret it), the presentation, the service was very professional and friendly and the ambiance very lively. There was absolutely nothing not to like. Our last and best dinner in Provincetown after an 8 day stay. Had we found it earlier we would have repeated. We will definitely come back!
