The food and experience was great. However when we were finished, we handed the waiter our card and then asked him if we were all set. He reminded us that our gratuity was included because we had 8 people and that we were all good. We grabbed our credit card from the billfold and left. Our check was $270 with tip. Two hours after we left, the owner pulled in front of our golf cart to block us and told us that we didn’t pay our bill. Four out of eight of us are public school teachers, One in our group is currently in medical school, another one is an engineer, two are retired from the corporate world. None of us have ever skipped out on paying a billl in our entire lives. This was a mistake made by the restaurant, and the owner scared the bejesus out of us when we were leaving the nature center. He pulled in front of us and yelled that we could do the easy way or the hard way. He then said we didn’t look like the type to dine and dash.
Again, our experience at the restaurant was good. Had he approached us and said that there was an error and that the payment had not gone through this review would not be written. We immediately handed a credit card over to him as he took off with it in his Gator and didn’t even let us follow him. We went right back to the restaurant to retrieve the credit card where the waiter told us he was forced to wash dishes because of his mistake. My dad tipped him an extra $10 because he told him that, there is no way this would’ve ever happened. My son in law also wrote a review, and the owner or manager responded and said that we dined and dashed which is obviously not the case. Anyone who tries to dine and dash would not take the time to write a review.
I would not support this business due to the unprofessional way they handled this and treated their customers after they made a mistake. Mistakes are made in this world. All the owner had to do is say they made a mistake. There was an error. We checked the credit card statement and it was not run the first time. There was no issue with us paying the bill. We were happy to pay for the wonderful food that we had, but the treatment afterwards was disgusting. We were treated like criminals for...

We ordered the exact same thing yesterday and today — two large pizzas, one pepperoni and the other half pepperoni, half bacon. Yesterday’s pizza was decent, and the kids actually enjoyed it enough to want it again today, even though I wanted to try a different restaurant.
Unfortunately, today’s pizza was a whole different story — and not in a good way. Within hours, our entire family ended up with stomach issues. Everyone had to use the restroom multiple times (3–4 times each), and that’s just not normal. I could tell something was off just by looking at the pizza: the crust didn’t look or feel right, and if you’re a true pizza lover, you know what I mean — when the pizza is just off, you can tell right away.
Also, the outdoor seating area isn’t enjoyable if you’re not drinking. Most of the people there seem to just hang out for alcohol, and the food feels like an afterthought. I’m honestly tired of the fake hype some of these places push just because it’s on Put-in-Bay. It’s like they’re trying too hard to be some version of Key West, Florida — but it’s not.
We won’t be back. Disappointed that the quality wasn’t consistent and even more upset that it made our whole family sick. That should never...
Read moreThe bar tender was nice but the guy guarding the door couldn't have been more rude. I ordered a pizza across the street and the pizza joint told me it would be 15-20 minutes. So we turn around and see what looked to be a very nice brewery. My wife and I ordered two beers brewed by the brewery. I got the oatmeal stout draft and my wife got an ipa draft. The beers were hard to stomach so it took a while to drink them. I ended up leaving my wife at the bar and running across the street to grab my pizza and come back and finish my beer. They guy stopped me and the gate when i got back and told me I couldn't bring in my pizza. I told him my wife and my beer were at the bar and I wasnt gong to eat my pizza there, that would be rude. He told me no and tried to stop me. I walked passed him and went and sat by my wife. He went and got his manager and she was rude and mean. I explained to her I wouldn't eat my pizza there and just wanted to finish my beer and she felt it necessary to lecture us. At that point there was no point in staying and drinking our sub par beers and we left two half beers...
