I visited The Reel Bar in Ohio during a recent family trip, and what should have been a joyful outing quickly turned into a deeply upsetting experience. Our group was excited, happy, and celebrating—but from the moment we walked in, it felt like we weren’t welcome. We were met with a rude server who treated us with visible disdain, and within less than 10 minutes of being seated, we were asked to leave. No explanation was given, and to this day, I’m still unsure why. We were polite, respectful, and just trying to enjoy our time together like everyone else. As the only people of color in the restaurant at the time, I can’t help but question whether our race played a role in how we were treated. The discomfort we felt—from the staff and even some of the patrons—was undeniable. It’s incredibly disappointing that in 2025, businesses like this can still make people feel unwelcome simply for existing in a space. Whether it was assumptions about our ability to pay or simply prejudice, the message was clear: we were not wanted. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone who values inclusivity, respect, or basic human decency. Spend your money where people actually want your presence—not just...
Read moreFood and drinks are amazing. I've had a Vegetarian Sloppy Joe and it was so good and original, because I've never heard about it before. The Lake Eary Perch was too dry, so if you really wanna try it, get some lemon to make it softer and tastier. Also I've asked to substitute my side of French fries with a rice, waitress never informed me that was a $3 extra. I got disappointed with the service during the busy time. Chocolate Raspberry Martini is great, Espresso Martini has really strong coffer taste, so keep it in mind if you are not a big coffee fan. Live performance was radiculous, the singer was making dirty jokes and sang his own versions of the good songs, some people liked it, but do not expect it to be great every time. Over all it's the best Dining Place in Put in Bay. Will come back every time. Explore your...
Read moreOwner keeps deleting my reviews on google and so I am leaving a review here. I visited The Reel Bar on the island and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The environment felt chaotic and tense, with staff frequently yelling and bickering with each other. It made the atmosphere uncomfortable for guests. Tacos were $8 each, and drinks were overpriced for the quality. Service was poor and disorganized. My server, Madison (possibly a supervisor), was particularly aggressive in how she spoke to other staff members, which was uncomfortable to witness. The entire experience felt unprofessional and unwelcoming. The team seems to need better training, both in customer service and internal communication. I wouldn't recommend this place based...
