DO NOT STAY HERE!! If I could give zero stars, I would. We decided to book here due to the previous decent reviews but I should have looked further… First and foremost let me be clear and mention that this slum is not a resort. Upon arriving my guy and I were immediately disgusted with the loitering and inappropriateness of the locals who were not staying at the resort. There was no mention that the pool and facilities were open to the public—again. This is not a resort…I was not impressed with the look and feel of the room. I paid over $200 for a room with a hot tub but when I saw the stained sink, stained bed skirt, hair and mold behind the toilet and several other unclean items in the room, we were certain that we would never put our bodies in there. We confirmed later that the jets weren’t cleaned. The entire floor grout in the bathroom tiles had black mold..The people in the pool and those that were outdoors loitering were loud and obnoxious. This was disturbing as we had a first floor room. We had to close the curtains because they could see in our room. Terrible!!!… We left and arrived back at the hotel to discover that the 20 inch TV wasn’t working. Then the shower drain was backed up.. They front desk pulled the Jamaican worker from SUBWAY to resolve the issue after the “manager” said she wasn’t coming to help..Very ghetto! At this point I was annoyed and uncomfortable but didn’t want to inconvenience my guy and leave. The next morning is when I see someone else’s hair and dirt behind the toilet and surrounding the toilet, more specifically on the sides where the round things are supposed to be. There were no caps, just dirt and rusty screws. I look up near the sprinkler and see that someone had smashed an insect and left it on the wall. I would think housekeeping would have cleaned this but no, it was left there. I am aware that it is fish fly season; however, regardless—just nasty. I had enough so I went to the front desk to speak with the “manager”. I had already complained the night before and the info was left for the “manager”. One would think a real manager would reach out to be proactive with proving a solution but this woman/man, whomever it was, is the reason why this hotel is a slum. After she disrespectfully reprimands the Jamaican worker in front of everyone for not placing a wet floor sign after a woman slips, I express my disdain for her behavior towards him and the dirty room. She was a bully. It was disrespectful so I wasn’t going to let it pass. At this time, I understood exactly why the hotel in is the condition that it is in— poor management. I asked for the owners information and she replied saying, “you’ll never get it.” After this, she calls the police on me and said we had to leave. No problem! The officer even passively comments that the room was unkempt. The so-called manager felt good thinking that we had nothing else lined up as accommodations and says “good luck” with laughter as we pack to go..I chuckled as well...She agreed to refund my money for only one night even after stating that she would also do a partial refund for the previous issues the night before.(He got emotional and decided not to partially refund me for the day before I guess—whatever..). ON TO the hotel Harriet’s House, just steps away! Absolutely beautiful, clean and had phenomenal management. When I called them at 9:30 am, they stated that we could come early and check and AND they had a golf cart waiting for us. When I say this place was spotless, SPOTLESS and comfortable… we wanted to stay and extra day. I have never been so happy to have been put out of anywhere before. God knows best! …. These Commodore folks should really look into better management and learn what a REAL RESORT looks like or at the least learn how to clean and remove mold. I also managed to get higher up management’s contact info. I have pictures and video of the room and the manager’s behavior and will be sharing this info with...
Read moreThis place was impressively clean!! They have taken out all the carpet in the hotel which I really liked, you never had to wonder what was in the carpet. If you are looking for crazy amenities, this is not the place, there is no alarm clocks or phones (we were told they were getting stolen and people were using the phones to call the other rooms in the middle of the night), it does have a microwave and a refrigerator, beds were not bad and the staff at night was great!! I will say I gave them only four stars because of how our stay started out. I called the night before to rent a room and was told I would have to call the day we would like to check in if we only wanted to stay one night, both hotels were available, so I was told so we called the next day and told them we wanted to book at the Victory, paid for everything when we got their we were told they had been book full for a while. I told her there was no way, that I had called the night before and they told me there were rooms and when I called that day they booked me for one, she proceeded to tell me no way they had been booked for a while and our room was at the commodore, needless to say I was not too happy not to mention no one had gotten my email right for me to get a conformation email. There was no discount offered for their inability to book rooms right just excuses that the phone lines get fwd to each other with excuses. Again this is the only reason I am giving it a four because again the night staff really made it enjoyable to come into the lobby at night and see them, the two guys were very knowledgeable and friendly and are the only reason except for how clean the rooms were that we will come back. I have stayed in 5 star hotels less clean then this!! Nice Job...
Read moreThis was a non smoking room (room 247), but the bedspread had a cigarette burn in it. Don't go barefoot. the ceramic tile in bathroom was broke, the paint was pealing in several areas. The shower had hair in it from previous guest. Non of which I reported, because I was happy it did not have bed bugs and i can clean the rest.
There was a fight in the middle of the the night, but there was no phone in the room to report it. I did not think to look in the binder on the other side of room for a phone number. The room did not have a remote, but when i requested on they did supply one.
However, what irks me. is that i paid 199 a night plus fees. Yet they had it listed for 169 when we showed up. I did mention it. The staff states its like airline rates, they adjust in the attempt to fill the rooms. I understand completely, but many airline rate also will match the low rate you notice. Of course i only noticed because i was double checking the amenities. Amenities do NOT include a coffee pot in the room and no the Pool is not heated. They did tell me that I could risk waiting for a lower price, but the hotel may not have a vacancy. That alone would be worth the wait. I'd rather no vacancy than spend 199 at this hotel. Honestly, i believe 169 is high, but it is centrally located.
so the good is: Has a pool bar (Don't even think about bringing a glass of water in the area though. You have to dump ALL beverages.). you can only buy from their pool bar.
There is a Subway in the lobby.
They offer free coffee in the morning.
I did not have an issue with the staff, but that probably has everything to do with my vacation, cant bring me down attitude. location was great. put in bay itself is...
