Tropical — Restaurant in Ralston

I went in on a weekday afternoon. There were 2 adult ladies sitting in a table with about 4 children. 1 got up when I walked in she looked roughly like a teenager to take my order. I asked for a smoothie and she wasn’t sure if they had any to begin with. When she went to the back to ask she confirmed we could. She took my order of 3 items. I saw her making them so I asked if I could run across the street to the gas station to grab gas while she made my orders since it was a smoothie an order of fresh fruit salad and a drink. She said it was fine. I came back less than 10 min later and there was another gentlemen in there waiting. I noticed 1 of the ladies who was in the table behind the counter this time. She was making a smoothie and I figured it was mine. Once she made it she handed it to the gentlemen waiting. She proceeded to ask me what I wanted to told her and she began ringing me up, I told her I had paid and left to go grab gas and come to grab my items. The lady looked confused and went to the back I’m assuming to ask the young lady. She said my fruit and smoothie would be right up. I heard the blender turn on somewhere in the back shortly after. I told the lady the whole reason I left to grab gas and come back was to save time I told her the gentlemen wasn’t there when I left and was back in less then 10 min and he got his smoothie before I did. Her response was she took his order and the young lady took mines. I was a bit irritated for that reason but also she was gossiping with the other lady when I first came in and instead of helping the young lady she ignored anything to do behind the counter until the other gentlemen walked in. I just grabbed my items and left but truthfully the lady didn’t seem to care about my comment and simply said my items would be ready shortly. It was a very slow day and aside from what may have been her friend and her children the place was empty. Poor customer service. First and last time I will go there. I decided to stop by to visit this place after a hard day of work and went for a regular sized Helado with one scoop of strawberry/vanilla, one scoop of rainbow, and one scoop of chocolate chip topped with M&M's and white chocolate sauce. It came out amazing and boosted my mood quite a bit. Definitely worth the money!

Update (5/30/2023): This is my second time going back to Tropical after a year. I decided to go for a grande size ice cream made up of four scoops; each a different flavor (chocolate, cafe, strawberry cake, and vanilla with chocolate chips). Then I topped it off with M&M's and chocolate sauce. I was highly looking forward to eating this, but after taking a few scoops, I noticed that the ice cream tasted gritty or grainy, and the M&M's tasted old. I'm not sure if this is just a fluke, where someone may have accidentally left the ice cream out, causing it to melt and then they refroze it, but it definitely didn't taste like something that matched the price I bought it for (about $9). Was there with my family and they forgot to make two orders that I placed with 3 others. 20 minute wait and my kids were done with their treat before we even got ours. Lack of communication skills and customer service to let us know if the other 2 orders were being made. Also as a business you should let customers what type of fruit come in the biónico because some of you customers can be allergic to certain fruits that are in you biónico or any other items you have to offer.
