I can not even begin to explain how frustrated and disappointed I am with this deli right now. I've been to Lotito's several times before and I've definitely overlooked simple mistakes they have consistently made but my experience today made me extremely upset. My brother, sister and I went to get 5 sandwiches for my family and when we got home one of the sandwiches had chicken instead of eggplant. My sister was obviously disappointed since she was looking forward to eggplant. She called the store to request a new sandwich. They wanted us to bring back the sandwich she had taken a bite of to swap it for the one she originally wanted. Knowing that they would throw it out once we brought it back, she questioned why they needed us to bring them the sandwich when someone else in the family would enjoy it. The man on the phone, who claimed to be the manager, was incredibly rude and acted as if it was HER fault that THEY messed up our order. He simply said "We make mistakes" and fought with her to bring the sandwich back if she wanted the correct one. I accompanied her to swap the sandwich and when we walked in, the woman behind the counter took one second to look at it before throwing the entire sandwich directly in the garbage. I asked them what the difference was between us keeping the sandwich and them throwing it out. The man she had spoken to on the phone earlier rudely stated that it was the wrong sandwich and we were getting the one we wanted. There was absolutely no point in doing that and they COMPLETELY WASTED an entire sandwich. When we finally got the correct sandwich, it had peppers on it even though we asked for no peppers, so we had to go back in AGAIN only for the same man to dramatically sigh and say "What's wrong now?" We told them we asked for no peppers and the only person who apologized was the woman who threw out the sandwich. No one ever apologized for messing up the original order. I can only hope someone of authority will see this review, as the staff there desperately needs to improve their customer service skills. I've seen other negative reviews from people who have had similar experiences and it makes me wonder why we are all still supporting this deli. And why has the owner done nothing to improve...
Read moreI have visited in the past, especially in college. But, today’s visit was horrible. I waited in line while the store was empty because the employees were talking to each other in the back. A few minutes later someone came over and asked what they can get me. To try and make the process faster she told the guy at the register to just ring me up. He answered her in the following way, “yeah sure since I’m here already I’ll just do it I guess.” In a very sarcastic tone. Making me feel as if I was bothering him.
Then the woman who makes my sandwich puts my bread to toast and pays a delivery many out of the register with her gloves still on. She then proceeds to use the same gloves, without changing them out for new ones AFTER SHE TOUCHED CASH! She goes over to the microwave to touch my food to see if it’s hot. With the same gloves on. Absolutely disgusting!!!
The man who was working there then began to clean the microwave with the same gloves he touched cash with as well. Then after he wiped it down just took a dry towel, dried his hands and did not change his gloves either.
This is definitely something that’s on-going if they both have done this now.
I had already paid for my food, so I didn’t want to make a big scene. I took my sandwich and as I am writing this am throwing it away. It wasn’t that the establishment itself that is poor. But me visiting with these employees was a very bad experience and they make the establishment poor. Maybe there should be better enforcement by management with food policy and also to maintain a cleaner, healthier environment for the customers placing orders and...
Read moreThis place should be avoided at all costs. I was in the store yesterday eating lunch when 2 women came in to the store. One woman had a tiny dog in a pouch on her chest when she came in. I didn't think anything of it. All of a sudden one of the staff yells over the counter that she has to leave and get that dog out of the store. The woman looked shocked but she did tell the guy that she has a letter authorizing her to have this dog with her as an emotional support dog. Three other staff members started to yell over the counter at this poor woman to get out of their establishment. My heart sank. She was humiliated and shocked. No one there even questioned what might be the reason this person needs this therapy. No compassion or empathy!!! Aside from that what about her right to privacy. Could they have discretely asked her to leave???? It was outright abuse and a violation of the disability laws. What if a blind person came in with a seeing eye dog !? Would they ask them to leave? Our society has become so insensitive and easily offended we no longer consider what someone else's burdens may be. Screw you Letitos! You should be ashamed to be Italian. I will never set foot in your establishment and your food isn't that...
