I went to Mochinut for my very first time last night, [12/01/23 at 7:58 p.m.], at the 10947 Olson Dr, Rancho Cordova CA location. When we walked in, I asked the location if they were open, and the workers present told me that though they would soon close - the store was open and I could order.
A young lady and a young man were working, and the young lady was the one taking my order. I asked questions as to how ordering and the food items worked, and initially she seemed receptive to answer. I made sure to quickly ask and order, as to be considerate of them since they would be closing soon.
However, once she placed my Mochinut balls order in the box, tossing them in flippantly, I asked if the Mochinut balls would be warmed up and if that was something that the store did. She kind of scoffed and rolled her eyes and said âNo.â I found the way she responded to be really odd, but I brushed it off. She rung my order up and it was $8.24 including taxes and fees. I turned for a moment to square away my payment method, and then I turned back to pay and the total said $9.27.
I asked the cashier why my total increased, and she blew me off and said âI donât knowâ. I didnât want to cause any kind of scene, so I paid. No receipt was printed, and I asked the lady if I could have my receipt. She rolled her eyes, huffed, and printed out my receipt - as though I did something wrong for asking. As I walked out of the store, I was checking my receipt and it said that there was a surcharge fee.
I took my receipt, and I poked my head back into the store and asked twice what a surcharge fee was - as the lady working at the register who took my order did not hear me. Upon asking the second time, she rolled her eyes and scoffed again and said âI donât knowâ, and then said under her breathe as she was serving the other customer, âI donât know what the hell to tell you.â Then following this, she said âI donât know what else to sayâ and then sort of scoffed/laughed afterwards.
Mind you, I was here with someone else, so we both just stood there stunned as to why we were being treated like this. With this being my first time at Mochinut, this was a HORRIBLE experience and made me wildly uncomfortable- to the point that I didnât even want to eat the food that I bought anymore. I donât know what we did to be treated like this, but this was a horrible experience and I definitely wonât be recommending Mochinut or this location in...
Read moreIt had been a while since I last had Korean corn dogs, and I was really craving them. The store opens at 10 AM, according to Google map and I arrived around 11 AM. But there wasnât much of a selection for donuts at that time. Only one lady was working, the service was understandably a bit slow since she was handling everything on her own. When I entered the store, she was in the kitchen and kept calling out, âBe right there, just a moment,â but she wasnât able to come out. After waiting for a while, I noticed a kiosk on the wall, so I ended up placing my order through that. I grew up in Korea eating authentic Korean corn dogs, so there were always a few things that didnât quite meet my expectations, tho it might just be my personal preferences;; One thing I do want to point out is that they charge extra for sugar. In Korea, sugar and ketchup are essential with corn dogs, like a needle and thread (theyâre always included plus its free) and if they are going to charge for sugar, they should at least be generous with it, enough to make it look like snow on the corn dog.. The batter was light and crispy, which I enjoyed. However, it kinda reminded me of the frozen Korean corn dogs you air fry or microwave with a batter that had a fishcake...
Read moreIf you want cold, overpriced donuts, disgusting sugar bomb drinks, and employees who act like youâre inconveniencing them by ordering, then this is the place for you.
I wasted $40 on a dozen stale donuts that tasted like theyâd been sitting out all day. The girl at the counter was not only rude but completely clueless about her own menu. When I asked if my drink came with boba, she literally said she didnât know, then had the nerve to tack on an extra dollar for it anyway.
As if that wasnât bad enough, while she was struggling to make TWO drinks and toss cold donuts in a box, her coworker actually came out to ask if she was okay because apparently doing the bare minimum here is just too much to handle.
The whole experience was pathetic. The staff clearly doesnât care, the food isnât fresh, and the drinks are way too sweet to even enjoy. Save your money and go literally...
