New York Bagel & Sandwiches — Restaurant in Rancho Cordova

I have been coming here for years, and kept coming during the lean times when the local anchor store was torn down and rebuilt, hoping they could stay afloat. Now they have too much business to worry about making customers happy. They are very slow to take care of customers. Sometimes. I drive by and see a big crowd, and keep on going. Other times, I go in to find a big crowd, then turn around and leave since I know it will take a long time for them to get to me. If I do happen to catch them when there is no backlog, they are often out of my favorite. This isn't rocket science. If you always run out of one kind, but always have too many of another, what do you do? If they don't have a backlog, and they do have what I want, then they get the order wrong, or give their good customer a jalapeno cheddar bagel with no jalapenos when they have plenty covered with them. Here's the thing... I had every intention to make a review with a photo with it but I swear to god every time I receive my bagel, I forget and just gobble it up. 🥲

My go to here is Nova Lox in a Jalapeno Cheddar bagel. You might think cheddar and cream cheese is overkill but i'm here to tell you that you're wrong. It's a good blend of sharpness from cheddar, spicy from the jalapeno and who doesn't enjoy a classic smoked salmon and cream cheese combo?

The bagel is big, so it's good enough for a lunch or late breakfast. Other things i've tried would be the croissant sandwiches, and they're pretty good.

The croissant is flakey and soft and they typically put in some microgreens instead of lettuce and I enjoy that part!

Service is good. I haven't had a time where they weren't pleasant or accomodating. My only not so great comment is that it is pricey BUT the quality of their items speakz for itself.

Food is great. The owners amazing very nice people. But today their front cashier not sure if she was having a day or not but she was very rude and disrespectful. My boyfriend and I like to try something new every time we’re there and already she’s like “ what do you want…. What cheese” with a rude tone we were like ok whatever and it’s my turn and I wasn’t sure what I wanted yet so I told her I wanted the American something and she proceeded to raise her voice and with her hands shaking them in circles and said “ alright what else what bread cheese like…” with attitude. If the owners of this place would like to keep their LOYAL customers they should teach their people to be nice and patient instead of rushing them.I don’t think I could go back after that incident.
