Recently opened in Redmond, Jashn is a fine-dine Indian restaurant that brings a promising culinary experience with thoughtful presentation and authentic flavors. The ambience is warm and elegant, though the seating felt a bit cramped. Still, the quality of food and service stood out.
We began with a few appetizers: • Dahi ke Kebab: Nicely flavored with a traditional touch—no breading, which we appreciated. They could’ve been cooked a bit more evenly, but the taste hit the mark. • Chandni Chowk Chaska: A creative and elevated take on Dahi ke Golgappe. The puris were filled with yogurt, sev, chutneys, papdi, and a bit of Dahi Bhalla—offering a perfect mix of soft and crunchy. • Lucknow Tokri Chaat: The tokri was softer than expected, but our server kindly explained that the authentic Lucknowi style involves soaking it in yogurt. It was a flavorful, well-composed dish.
The presentation of the starters was impressive and clearly well thought out—eye-catching and refined.
For the main course, we tried: • Paneer Khatta Pyaaz • Banarsi Kofta (an off-menu special currently being tested)
Both gravies had distinct, rich flavors with just the right balance of spice and freshness. Portion sizes were just right—enough for two people to share comfortably. Special thanks to our server, Nisha, who recommended the Banarsi Kofta and guided us through the menu with warmth and knowledge.
Accompaniments: • Onion Chilli Garlic Naan: Crispy and packed with flavor. • Aloo Kulcha: Soft and well-seasoned.
Dessert experience:
We initially ordered Daulat ki Chaat, but it wasn’t available. Nisha offered us a taste of their Kunafa, which was okay—though I personally prefer a crispier version. What truly stood out was the Baked Rasgulla she introduced us to—a unique Rabri-baked dessert that was absolutely delicious. It was fresh, creamy, and something we haven’t found elsewhere. Chef Arvind even came to our table to share how it was made, which made the experience extra special.
On the pricing side, Jashn is comparable to other fine-dining Indian restaurants in the area. Given the quality, service, and creativity in the menu, it feels worth it.
Overall, Jashn is a delightful new addition to Redmond’s dining scene—great for anyone looking to enjoy innovative and authentic Indian food in a fine-dining setting. We’re excited to see how the menu evolves and look forward...
Read moreI visited Jshan Indian Restaurant on July 31, and it was an absolutely outstanding dining experience from start to finish. We tried a variety of dishes, and every single one was top notch — beautifully presented, bursting with flavor, and prepared with clear attention to detail.
We started with the Kolkata Puchka, which was crisp, tangy, and refreshing — a perfect way to kick off the meal. The Mumbai Lasooni Pav Bhaji was rich, buttery, and full of bold garlic flavor, exactly how it should be. The Thecha Paneer brought a lovely heat and smokiness, and the Makhmali Paneer Tikka was melt-in-your-mouth tender with a wonderful balance of spices. For the meat dishes, the Gulnar Lamb Chop was cooked to perfection — juicy, flavorful, and expertly seasoned — while the Thecha Chicken had a fiery punch that spice lovers will adore. We also enjoyed their virgin drinks, which were refreshing and made with quality ingredients.
Not only was the food amazing, but the service was over the top. Our server, Tarun, was attentive, knowledgeable, and made the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. He had a friendly personality, great menu recommendations, and ensured that every detail of our table was taken care of without us even having to ask.
Yes, the prices are on the higher side, but the exceptional taste, top-quality ingredients, and spotless cleanliness of the restaurant make it completely worth the money. The atmosphere was classy yet welcoming, and it’s clear the team here takes pride in both their food and their service.
If you’re looking for a place that delivers gourmet Indian cuisine with impeccable service, Jshan Indian Restaurant is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back to explore more...
Read moreWe never leave reviews. But after our visit to Jashn (Redmond Town Center), we felt morally obligated — like we’d witnessed a crime against hospitality and couldn’t, in good conscience, stay silent.
Let’s start with the vibe. The service had all the warmth of a malfunctioning fridge. The staff carried a sort of combative indifference — like they were being forced to serve us as part of a community service sentence.
The owner? Picture the stern matron of a 1940s British boarding school, patrolling the dining room like she suspects us of plotting to overthrow the menu. Not once did we feel welcomed. Monitored? Yes. Enjoyed? No.
The servers were in a constant rush, channeling the spirit of Udupi waiters in Mumbai during lunchtime chaos. They hovered like hawks over our plates, ready to snatch the bedazzled cutlery the moment we reached the last grain of rice. Blink, and your plate’s gone.
And just when we thought we could savor the final bite — boom! Out came the electronic receipt. Not once, not twice, but three times in under a minute. I was still mid-chew when the card reader was brandished like a weapon. Apparently, they feared we'd dine and dash through the doors, even though our plates weren’t empty and our jaws were very much in motion.
As for the food: safely forgettable. Below average in taste, with portion sizes calibrated for someone training for a hummingbird modeling gig.
To summarize: Jashn may mean "celebration," but the only thing we celebrated was...
