I see this place has great reviews and understandable. Most people pass through hotels. I live in them due to work. I have 70 nights this year through Hilton, not to mention the nights at IHG, Hyatt and Marriott. I base my ratings on three categories for people whom live in hotels. 1. Hotel itself. 2. Staff. 3. Amenities. So on catering 1: the hotel is new, clean and located in a great spot. I like the layout of the rooms and closet setup. There are drawers to put my items as well as a rod and hangers for all of my clothes. There is a desk to set up my computer with plugs located in a great spot. There are plenty of plugs and usb ports on either side of the bed as well. There is also a wireless charger on the clock radio. One less cord I pull out of my cord organizer the better. I like the room on the counter and shelving in the bathroom as well. I like the shower. You can pull one door open to turn on the water and then once it's warm, pull the other to get in. I like well thought out designs. Small items like getting in the shower to turn on the water and getting hit when it's cold becomes quite large when you do it everyday for 12 days at a time. Item 2: the staff were all friendly and quite nice it seemed. I tend to not deal with them a lot except during check in/out time. I do have to change my trips quite often so I base it on how accommodating they are. My 12 days was cut short due to a job in Charlotte I had to leave to. They had no problems when I told the lady at the front desk I was changing my check out to the next morning. So on the category 3. This is a big one if you live in the hotel. Not so much if your staying the weekend. I hate to pay for parking when I am already paying for a hotel. Parking is $15/day. I knew that going in but the rates in Redmond have skyrocketed the last couple of months. Even with the parking it was cheaper than other hotels. However, I will always chose a hotel where parking is free even if it's the same rate after calculations based off of spite. Another that seems small to some short timers. I have to go downstairs to get my deliveries for food. Again, it's a big deal to do that every single night that I choose to stay in instead of going out to dinner. Also, along those lines. There is no breakfast in the mornings, the rooftop lounge is closed, no pool, workout room by appointment only and there is no room service. Now these are based on covid "safety". I don't really believe the "for your and our protection" bit. I think it's the manager or owners bottom line. Less staff to do those means more money for them. Now before people think I'm a covid denier, I'm not. Remember I basis this off of other experiences. I was staying at the Hyatt down the road in January and we had grab and go breakfast, pool and gym by appointment only, no room service. The Holiday Inn in Bellingham had a great idea for hot breakfast. You fill out a sheet daily on what you want and time you will pick it up and it's ready, pool by appointment but gym open and room service. The Hampton Inn down the road in Redmond, grab and go breakfast, pool and gym by appointment only and room service; At the beginning. Two weeks ago. Grab and go breakfast items but you can sit, gym open completely, room service and pool open to guest with a maximum occupancy of a certain number. This hotel is months behind on amenities to it's guest compared to others. As I write this I am in a Hilton Garden Inn in Honolulu for a job. Pool open, grab and go breakfast, gym open and they ask if you want room service or not. Hawaii still has mask mandate and you jump through hoops before your let into the state. Same brand, harsher state requirements; still better amenities. So like I said, owner or managers bottom line is what it boils down too. With prices at peak in Redmond I am actually going downtown Bellevue the next week for cheaper rate and it's one block from Bellevue Square, which is walking distance to several eateries and...
Read moreThe hotel was clean, comfortable and safe. It offered free coffee and tea in the room. It has a well secured parking garage under the hotel and is right in downtown Redmond. The staff lock the doors at night and you have to use your keycard to enter. We had a pleasant, quick one night stay while passing through. The hotel is new, but it has major design flaws that would make me choose another hotel for more than a night stay, especially if I needed to spend a lot of time in the room or do work at the desk in it. The lighting was seriously lacking... as in even with every light in the room on it was very dark if the sun was not shining brightly and the curtains/blinds were not completely open. There was a very dim overhead light by the door and no overhead light in the room. While there were 3 lamps and 2 lights attached to the wall by the bed, the output was minimal and insufficient for anything other than mood lighting. Trust me when I say that while that sounds like more than enough lights for one hotel room, we are talking about some very dim and weak lighting. To be honest, the lights at the bedside looked like and worked like small underpowered flashlights rather than a true bedside lamp or light fixture. Two of the other 3 lights also gave off the same amount and focus of light as an underpowered flashlight, while the third gave off a warm glow on a larger surface of light but did not actually light the room. There was not enough light to read a book anywhere except the bathroom or the closet. There was a very stylish looking sliding barn type door on the bathroom, but unfortunately, it did not line up well with the wall and left more than an inch gap defeating any possibility of privacy. I would prefer a non-stylish door that works. When all the lights were out for sleeping, there were also 4 small appliance lights that showed up such as the fire detector, microwave, thermostat, air conditioner, etc so if you prefer pitch black for sleeping, this might not work for you either. That said, the staff were very nice. I think that this new hotel is still working out some major kinks. I hope they can upgrade the lighting and address the poorly functioning bathroom doors as this would significantly improve my rating of this nice hotel and my desire to stay...
Read moreReview for Hilton Hotel:
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hilton Hotel, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The staff at the hotel were truly amazing and friendly, making us feel welcomed and attended to throughout our stay. Their exceptional service deserves a solid 10 out of 10.
However, there was one issue that detracted from an otherwise perfect stay—the management of the breakfast service. As guests attending a wedding, we were fortunate enough to have been offered free breakfast by the host. According to the instructions, we were required to present our coupons to enjoy the complimentary meal. On the first day, everything went smoothly, and we received our breakfast without any complications.
Unfortunately, on the second day, we encountered an unexpected problem. When we presented our coupons as instructed, we were informed that we had to pay 50% of the bill. This was rather perplexing, as our vouchers clearly stated that breakfast was covered by someone else's account. It became necessary for us to involve the waitress and the manager, who were called to our table to discuss the issue.
Initially, the manager insisted that we were responsible for 50% of the bill, causing some frustration and confusion. However, after some time, they realized their mistake and sincerely apologized for the misunderstanding. Although this situation was inconvenient and could have been avoided, I appreciate the respectful manner in which the hotel staff handled the matter and rectified their error.
Aside from this incident, the Hilton Hotel provided a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The amenities were well-maintained, the rooms were clean and cozy, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. I commend the staff for their excellent customer service, as they truly made us feel valued as guests.
In conclusion, while the hiccup with the breakfast management was disappointing, the outstanding service provided by the staff at the Hilton Hotel overshadowed this issue. I would still recommend this hotel to others, and I hope that the breakfast process will be smoother and more efficient...
