On 2-12-2024 we had a meal at Thai Ginger in Factoria. The service was ok but the food was no able to be eaten. We ordered 2 Star and received at least a 4 star. We could not eat the food, it was simply too hot and they never checked back with us to comment. Finally, at the end of the meal time, the waiter never came back, he was "server D". When we went up to pay, we told him that we could not eat the food. They seem to act like they do not understand English but he did. My husband did leave a tip and he nearly beat him up over the amount. He nearly chased my husband down and started yelling him at the door and showed a lot of anger. We tried to explain to him that the service was marginal, that he never came bank and that we could not eat the food. We did not even take it home. The following day, I called to talk with the owner, wo we know. I was told she was out of town so I called Redmond Town Center. I talked with May, who said she was the manager. I told her what happened and asked to speak to the owner. She told me she was out of the county. I told May what happened and she told us to come to Redmond one night and ask for her and she would replace the meal that we could not eat. It was $74.36. We went last night and we had a good meal. When she brought the bill, I reminded her what she said and she apparently misrepresented that she is not the manager and went to talk with Ken, who said he was the manager. She lied about what she told us but then recalled her conversation with me and told Ken and he came back our table and said, "if you don't pay, I will call security". Ken states he called the owner and she said we had to pay. I have no idea if he called her or not but all of this has been a horrific experience and after 20 years of going to Thai Ginger, we will never go back. There is constant turn over and the food in Factoria is not consistently good. There is no reason for any restaurant to treat good customers like this and especially people who have gone for over 20 years, Even then the owner was in prison, we supported her restaurant. These people are crooks and highly dishonest. For any owner to allow her employees to treat nice people like this is unbelievable especially, when she herself spent a great deal of time in Sea-Tac prison for dishonest acts. The credibility starts with the owners down. We plan to dispute the charges with Visa. This restaurant has gone hill and all of them have gone out of business but two now. Also, the business has been very diminished in Factoria so others must be experiencing the bad good, constant turn over and increased prices. I would strongly avoid Vivian's two Thai Ginger restaurants especially when employees nearly beat you up and then...
Read moreI really dont enjoy doing these kinda reviews but the fact that it’s a frequent thing with this restaurant, doesn’t leave me with any other choice. Today I tried talking nice with the servers but their communication skills are lacking, major. If you ask how long for your pick up order, expect to wait much longer than what they say. When trying to talk with them, it almost seems like they try so hard to get out of the conversation and will walk away as they’re talking… Almost like their time is too precious to provide me a 20-30 second interaction. Now, I asked how long 3-5 times, each time the older lady server would respond “it’s coming it’s coming” or “1-2 minutes”, hence why I asked so many times. Because it was not 1-2 minutes, instead about 7-10 minutes would go by. After watching I finally noticed that the order was never even started, and my pick up time was 6:48. I didn’t leave the restaurant until 7:25. Based of my own kitchen experience, seems to me they started the order once I came in. So it seems like they’re quite unorganized in the kitchen, considering most orders are coming out late, and they don’t provide adequate times. As I mentioned before, it’s a frequent occurrence when coming to Thai Ginger, or else I wouldn’t be so upset about the whole thing. I’d understand if it wasn’t happening so frequently, but restaurant settings are meant to be fast paced and organized, while the crew holds accountability while being hospitable and punctual. Without that, it creates havoc and I’m speaking from my own experiences of working in the service industry. It is not FOOD industry. It’s SERVICE. Gladly, I’m just a delivery driver, but it does make me wonder if that’s the sole reason behind being dealt with that way. Definitely doesn’t make me want to come in for a dine in experience.
O’Char and Bai Tong have never disappointed, because even when they acknowledge their mistakes or their behavior, they work to make it right… That’s where the accountability & hospitality come into play. Guests don’t want to hear sorry, and see nothing be done about it… If they want 4-5 star ratings, they need to...
Read moreBefore getting dinner we looked at the website for this restaurant to see when they closed and it said 9 PM. We arrived there at 8:30 which we understood was close but we were still hoping to get some food. They told us that we could not be seated and would have to order takeout which made a lot of sense since it was getting close to their closing. However I had two issues with my experience. For one, when taking my order I was given the screen to pay and then the tipping page. Had we dined in, I would have provided a tip happily but since we were not actually receiving a service I did not want to tip. The lady helping us was holding the screen and watching the amount I put in which made me uncomfortable and I felt forced to put a tip even though I really did not want to. On the other hand I still did not need to provide a tip if I did not want to, but having someone breath down your neck as you decide what you want to give is not a comfortable situation to be in. My other issue with this experience was as we were handed our food, we made a kind comment to lighten the mood by saying “oh wow the food came out so quick!” Trying to show our gratitude, and in response the man with our food responded with, “yeah because we want to go home” which was really unnecessary and rude. All in all, I think the food was delicious however I felt very unwelcome and I felt as though I was a burden to these people. As a server myself, I know that the people who served us did not represent the...
