Fantastic little find! I’ve just started intermittent fasting so lunch has become more “important”. Today I wanted something really different then my usuals. Latin it was! I passed the storefront before but by the name, I figured it was all dogs. Im sure the dogs are good but the Latin food is wonderful. I had the spicy donkey chulo (chicken) with jalapeños and oddly enough, blue cheese. Loved it! I requested some salsa on the side, and she read into that. I like sauces! She brought out her housemades - salsa, tepochi sauce & chimichuri. The tepochi was new to me. A smoky heat that doesn’t overpower. Really nice. Of course, I had to have plantains - a favorite that I don’t find often around here. Spectacular and just $4. I could eat just them for a meal but won’t with all the other stuff to try on the menu.
I prefer mom & pop shops over any chain or large restaurant. These two don’t disappoint. They are lively & lovely. That wins every time. The place is small, pleasantly colorful, and very, very...
Read moreBest place for Latin food in the Rehoboth Beach area by far!! Focused on Puerto Rican, Venezuelan food and their rather awesome Hot Dogs that are garnished to fill your tummy! Never seen hot dogs served like this! This time, I had several of their puertorican dishes and was completely satisfied with the quality and flavor of the food! Highly recommend their pernil (pork), stewed chicken, rice, beans, alcapurrias (green banana fritter) and natural fruit juices. Next time I'm trying their mofongo (traditional puertorican dish made from mashed green plantains, garlic, and whatever meat or seafood you want with it.)
The place is so cute and colorful, with decor that reminds me of being in Puerto Rico. Small establishment with only a few tables but worth stopping in for a bite or for take out. In the heart of rehoboth beach and the owner/chef Javier and his wife Aurea were so pleasant and welcoming! On street metered parking on season, free street parking off season.
Do yourself a favor and stop in for a bite. You...
Read moreWonderful atmosphere and service from this small authentic cuisine restaurant, amazing food with tons of flavor and perfect gracious portions! Our group stumbled in searching for hotdogs and while this place certainly deliveries on that (the footlongs are appropriately named!) we were quickly blown away by their large menu featuring dishes from Venezuela, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. The chef/owner came and spoke to our group while we looked over the menu and offered us samples of some of the available flavors! He shared some of his personal history with us and explained the regional importance of several dishes. He has a clear passion and respect for food as a source of human connection. Getting the chance to speak with him was like a warm hug. Returned to the restaurant for a second taste and would visit many more times!! Recommend this place a million times over. Although our group did not partake, there are also clearly labeled vegetarian options and all the hot dogs can...
