Tiki Jac's Street Eats & Brews — Restaurant in Rehoboth Beach

We decided to go to Tiki Jacks for dinner father day weekend 2024. The service was good our server was on point with drink refills, however we asked if they would sub a side salad instead of fries for our 9year old daughter who didn’t want French fries with her chicken fingers. The server said they could not do this. I worked in the restaurant industry for 22years and learned even if things were busy you did what the customer or guest asks especially a request so simple and from a kitchens standpoint a side salad would even save a line cooks time rather than fries. But the bigger disappointment was my wifes entree and my entree were both barely edible, the fry oil must have been done for since our fries and fish were both grease logged, and my wife’s burrito looked like something you would see on kitchen nightmares and tasted just as it looked. However I will give the manager major Props he must have noticed my wife and I didn’t eat our meals and he comped the two entrees no questions asked. So way to go on the management. My advice would be spend a little more time developing a menu, maybe look for a new chef or send the currant chef for some more training. The menu was very intriguing but again good menus take attention to detail. People are here to have a experience and a bad experience lingers for a long time, when people are spending $150-$200 for dinner, they deserve a $150-$200 dinner not a burrito you could find at a local gas station. We are regulars of Nicola's and still sad they are no longer part of downtown but we are more than happy to have stumbled into Tiki Jac's! I was there with my daughter, her boyfriend and my mom. We ordered one of the drink specials and then my daughter requested a drink that Yolanda made sure she got. Three of us had the crabcake grilled cheese sandwich, which were AMAZING! My mom, ordered the The Philly Special "the cheesesteak" (which is enough to feed two adults) and loved it. However, how can you charge $1 for cheese when the menu name of the sandwich is The Philly Special "the cheesesteak"???? I could see if it were listed as a steak sandwich then showing an up charge for cheese. This gave us entertainment and a laugh. Then to find out the owners are from Philly, come on you know you're dead wrong. The manager did comp the cheese but I just had to say this is wrong. Just raise the price of the The Philly Special by $1, it is worth it. I can't say enough about how amazing Yolanda was as a server. She was very personable, attentive and fun. When you go try to sit in her section. The only thing we didn't like was the fries. That was a waste of a $3 upcharge. I had spoken to somebody earlier in the day, and was happy to find out that they offered Keno. He also informed me that there would be live music, so we were sold! We started walking from our rental as thunder started rolling around us, and by the time we got to the Avenue the skies opened up. By the time we got across to Tiki Jacs we were soaked, even with an umbrella. The hostess, amazing, got us paper towels to dry off, as well as a bag for our useless umbrella! Very nice touch. We went and sat at the bar to play Keno, and have a few drinks. Our bartender Chris was friendly, engaging, and made us feel very welcome. Over the next two hours we sat at the bar and had a great time, even if we didn't win big on Keno. Before we left, we asked for two orders of wings with blueberry habenero sauce on the side. The wings arrived just as we were finishing up, and they smelled amazing! We left and went back to the house, and we tore into the wings soon after. They were awesome! Smoked and tender, and the sauce was incredible, not too spicy, and delicious! We told Chris we'd be back, and we certainly will be! From start to finish, Tiki Jacs is a great time!
